I agree, and thank you for that. It is nice to know what we are listening to and "soaking up into our being", in a foreign tongue, as it really matters. I don't want to be subliminally aligned with the worship of Mary. She was a normal human just like the rest of us. It was the fruit of her womb that was divine. To worship Mary, or anyone other than the Tri-une God, is idolatry. Not all old chants are uplifting. Some of them may be in error before God. Those ones I wish to side-step. Try ILLUMINATION Peaceful Gregorian Chants - anything with Dan Gibson’s arrangements outdoes all the rest. There is intermittent bird song, interspersed by a few singular strands of a violin or cello, the tinkling of a couple piano keys, or the feminine accent of a sung sigh ~ all to weave a tapestry of sacred sounds.
