The time at the end where Brad leads us through a time of talking with Jesus has helped me so much. Thank you!

Heart-warming interview...thank you. It is men who speak of the incorrigibly wicked, not God. Even if it were true (Jer.17:9 AV) that the “heart” is “deceitful above all things” (‘deep beyond all’ - Septuagint, as Brad pointed out), it is never said to be “desperately wicked” (Heb. anash, ‘To be sickly, mortal, incurable’ [humanly speaking] - Young). How quickly we forget - or even fail to see - that the Lord can search the same heart (v.10); moreover He can change its direction (Prov.21:1), and establish the cure as in Hosea 5:15: "I will go and return to my place till they acknowledge their offence and seek My face; in their affliction they will seek Me early.”

If the Lord occupies the heart of the born again believer, how can deceit dwell with light?

Love this! Look! Experience the Lord! Encounter Him. Allow Him to create a living connection with you. Some would say "You're just making it up." But the proof is in a transformed heart, a transformed life.

Oh how wonderful this experience was this morning. As I work with my clients this broken distorted image of God is heartbreaking. And I am living proof that Jesus can and will repair this image. Beautiful morning with you and Bradley. 🥰

How do I do listening prayer? And why do I cry the majority of times when I pray?
@SusanCarson
@SusanCarson 3 жыл бұрын
Hi, Mona! Listening prayer is simply a conversation with God. You share your heart, then listen for the thoughts, words, pictures that come to you with the tone of Jesus and love. Bradley's practice is a great way to start: secureservercdn.net/198.71.233.67/amg.c6a.myftpupload.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/the-meeting-place2.pdf. I'd also recommend his book, Can You Hear Me? It sounds like you have a very tender heart. Perhaps there's pain there or simply a tenderness toward God. The ministry I lead, Roots&Branches Network, offers listening and healing prayer sessions where we help you listen to God for healing. If that sounds helpful, you can book a zoom session at www.rootsandbranchesnetwork.com. Thanks for listening and for asking.

I know this will come across like the epitome of arrogance, but I feel like it's God's fault for our broken images of Him. He doesn't seem to speak to us in ways we can easily discern, recognize or understand. Nor does He particularly seem to care about our finances, physical health, mental health, etc. Then on top of that, we have a Bible that's hard to understand because it has a million different interpretations and translations. And each person who adds their interpretation claims to be led by the same Holy Spirit everyone else claims to be led by. Why would God make this so damn confusing? Or allow it to be? A loving, earthly father would never allow so much confusion in his relationship with his children. And if one of his children didn't seem to understand his love for them, he would find a way to communicate it in a way that the child would recognize. It really seems that humans are more loving than God.

Thanks for your honestly. You don't sound arrogant to me at all. A living relationship with God often feels murky. Certainly there's lots in the Church and the world to make us question. Doubts, questions and disappointments are real, and I believe God welcomes all of this into our relationship. I guess I just want to say you're not alone and none of this is easy. I pray you find a renewed place of connection with Jesus that roots you ever more deeply in his love for you.

@@SusanCarson Thank you Susan and happy new year! I appreciate the reply, especially since this video is a few years old. I know I'm thinking about this in a western/Greek mindset, but this is all I know. This is who I am. I just don't understand why God doesn't speak to us in direct ways. I'm not good with the subtle, still, small, mysterious, word picture, obscure type of communication that God seems to use. Does He want us to treat our relationship with Him like a scavenger hunt? I've heard people say that part of the wonder of getting to know God is going through this treasure hunt. But surely people experience failures and mistakes along the way of trying to hear God. So I believe the cons outweigh the pros. I'd much rather have God speak to me in a clear, unmistakable voice. Just like a human speaking to me.

I'd love that, too@@WheelEstate. In this life we have more mystery than certainty. And there's lots of room for error. I've certainly missed many times over the years. It sounds like there's a desire in your heart for me, and I'm trusting God will meet you in that desire. So many things get in the way, but God's love is always seeking after us.
