I’m exceptionally proud of my husband for sharing this and really hope he can be an inspiration to others. It takes a lot of courage to talk about your private battles. Jim has been such a help, giving his professional knowledge and understanding of pain, his soothing approach has been such a support. Keep learning and nurturing yourselves and thankyou all for your kind comments to my hubby ❤️

I was just thinking to myself after I heard your hubby say that you didn't want to go out without him, that it wasn't fun without him..." what a lucky guy, to have such a wife!" and then I glanced down and noticed your comment... How sweet of you to come on here and support him here as well! You two are definitely a special couple!💕

Beautifully said Sara, it’s great to see that Dan has such an understanding, loving and supportive wife (mine wasn’t - he’s long gone) I could so relate to his story, his words moved me, just hearing Dan express the emotional rollercoaster that comes along with the healing process, the days, the months and beyond. I know I’m becoming a better person from my turbulent journey, and it’s thanks to the wisdom of people like Jim and the courage your husband Dan for reaching out and touching others. So please keep sharing, keep loving, keep healing, we are very grateful 💜💜

If you haven't done so yet. . . recall your Lightbulb Moment & keep re-playing it in your mind to reinforce that THIS IS BEATABLE! (May the Force be With You ;)

Have the absolute pleasure of knowing Dan, my husband was in a band with him and he's a family friend! To see where he is now from where he was has literally been like watching a miracle. I have told him before and will say again how happy and proud of him I am seeing what he's done! He has also chatted to me several times and set me in a direction to start understanding my own chronic pain and to see what he's achieved is really inspirational. Plus I just love seeing him in a shirt again 🤣🤣 💖💖

Love this recovery story! Thank you so much much for publishing Dan's story as it mirrors my journey so much better than many others as my journey has been a longer one and a slower one (Fibromyalgia and CFS). Now I spend lots of time with barely no symptoms ( a 1 or less) but also there are days that I can wake up with a fair amount of symptoms and can brings them down during the day but still at a 2 or 3.

Wow! Spot on and so inspirational. I have been on pretty much the same journey for the last 2yrs with chronic vestibular migraine, and I’m probably at the same stage as Dan now. Listening to audio books and following your KZbin channel has been a game changer for me. I never thought I would get to this stage, like you say it teaches you patience (which is something I never had) and it takes a long time. A big thank you to you both, we are capable of our own recovery. Excellent content 💜

Thank you, thank you !!! Amazing honest interview, thanks to you both Jim and Dan. Best wishes to you Dan on your continued healing path. I'm at the start of the TMS acceptance stage, but would really like to know if you both consider Plantar Fasciitis to be part of TMS? Also Jim, I have been following your videos for quite a while now and also connect well with your soothing voice ... would love to know what 8min meditation you do in the mornings Dan? And finally ... any further direction to helpful somatic info? Thanks so much 🙏 Blessings to you both. New subscriber Dan!
@thepainpt3 жыл бұрын
Yes planter fasciitis is a very common TMS type issue as long as you know you did not injure yourself or its an acute injury you can probably put it in this category. I would definitely get your mind and nervous system working to help you. If you want a one on one consultation to go over all your history I’m happy to do that just reach out. Also I do have some private relaxation videos and audio that I sent to clients/patients that are similar to the somatic tracking that you can see on my KZbin. Best of luck you can get through this. It’s about relaxing the brain and nervous system and there’s lots of different tools and ways to do that!
@dancozens65583 жыл бұрын
Hi Rollercoaster & thanks. Jim very kindly sent me an 8 min Relaxation meditation that I listen to every morning plus I also listen to his Somatic Tracking Part 2 Video (on his channel) every day. I also tend to listen to other meditations that Ive come across that work for me. I guess the trick is to find the ones that resonate with you as an individual!? I have also, through working with Jim, recorded bespoke Somatic Tracking & Meditation exercises as part of my sessions. For me personally, Ive had most success with Somatic Tracking for immediate relief/help but for longer terms (building bricks-if u like) Ive been Journalling, Mediating & Talking to my brain NON-STOP! Good luck!

Brilliant interview and story, blessings to both of you for posting this. So much I can relate to. Dan Cozens: you mention you are still on some meds: is that for pain or something else? I'm struggling with whether it's ok to be taking some low dose Rx pain meds, curious of your take on that topic. On the one hand I really don't want to take anything and it seems a "concession" to the pain, but on the other hand they do help a little, at least for a few hours, and help me to at least remind my brain what it is like to not have chronic pain. Thank you both.
@dancozens65583 жыл бұрын
krobin7h - thx very much. I am now only taking Pregabalin. TBH… I’ve always avoided taking any meds my entire life until this health issue. So reducing & coming off has always been high on priority (closely behind learning to walk again!) I don’t like the way they’ve made my brain fuzzy & added weight and seriously bloated stomach!! I’m currently week2 into further reduction from 200mg a day to 150mg. So far I’d say it’s been a pretty tough gig with obvs some days worse than others. So pretty bad BUT not awful and definitely doable! Just taking it a day at a time. 🤞🏼🙏🏼😊

Thanks Sasha - Really glad you enjoyed. In the early stages of my journey I was listening to the meditations on the Curable App which helped enormously, as did the audiobooks of Dr John Sarno. When my progress started to plateau I found Jim on here, and his voice/delivery/whatever really resonated. More recently (since March) I've been having regular Zooms with Jim (which I always record) during which we generally have a meditation or somatic - so I just snip/cut the particular part i want & put onto my phone! Hope this helps!

Watching with tears. Burning pelvic nerve pain that my provider says in showing signs of change and healing but how can a healing nerve burn?
@lindapelle8738Ай бұрын
I had interest digital cystitis diagnosed 1995, after a long term flu chronic fatigue syndrome then I got a full Virginia Envolver vestibulitis constant burning worse when sitting it was nonstop for over a decade spent all of my savings of fortune on special physical therapists got some but then it would come back, internal trigger point injections helped but that’s a longer story. Eventually I left my boyfriend used to run his company and made him a lot of money and he did not like being with someone who was sick I couldn’t work anymore I had a very stressful job. Took me may be six years to leave him plus I had mold in the house you couldn’t see it but it was there from the leak we had and he didn’t want to fix it properly. Stayed with a friend was considering going back to Chicago to live with my mom no other choice so I just started do you have fun and enjoy California going to all the beaches doing whatever I could even though I was in severe pain and also had facial nerve pain. I’d say within three weeks all of my burning that I had for a decade was gone. I got off the computer didn’t have one when I moved in they just depressed me and made me very nervous made me clinch clinch isn’t good for the pelvic floor muscles. There was no KZbin back then just yahoo groups. So I basically just ignored it and made a life changeI stopped all therapy I don’t recommend that but that’s what I did because I was out of money and he canceled my insurance. I knew my burning would never go away, but it did out of the blue no bladder burning no nothing I still urinate more than the average person but not a lot more I used to get up and pee 25 times a night that went down to one time per night. Trust me you can heal I still have tight pelvic floor muscles not as tight but they are tight but I don’t have any pain which is a miracle. I still have facial pain but it all of that was caused by the Dentist doing surgery on me. The nerve pain in my body created itself left easily and I didn’t even know how to do TMS I have no idea. Hope you’re doing a lot better just wanted you to hear a success story❤
