I stand corrected! The butterfly valve in this bike does NOT automatically set itself to the OPEN position when NOT under tension. First bike I've had this happen to! I had NO negative adverse affects whilst running this healtech with the stock silencer installed, I assume the pressure of the exhaust gasses open the valve up under pressure. Remember the videos I produce are NOT 'How to' videos unless stated in the title, just me doing things to my bike and documenting the process. Replicate at your own risk.

I notice there is a huge difference in exhaust tone when the flap opens at 6000rpm on mine. I've considered one of these myself, but I'm not sure if it voids the Yamaha engine warranty?

Just a thought, as I'm unsure how these cheat plugs work. But the fact you removed both the cables from the motor to the exhaust. Do you actually need the Healtech cheat plug? Would leaving the motor plugged in given the same results? As I say, not sure how these work. Been watching since the Speed Triple, great videos!!! Cheers....

@sergeantsodom6969 Жыл бұрын
Short answer is no, you don't need a healtech, you can leave the motor installed and remove the cables with no real issues. This is just more of a cleaner solution/saves some weight by removing the entire system. Cheers for sticking around!

@@sergeantsodom6969 Cheers for the info. I do have to say, that motor did look a monster bit of metal compared to the Healtech. I just didn't think of this.... cheers for taking the time. Keep the videos coming.... 👍👍👍

It depends on wich bike, i had a 2022 Zx6r i installed an exhaust so i just leave the servo without the cables and got no error codes, but now i have a KTM 1290 superduke R and on this bike if you detach the cables you will get error code, bike will go into "Limp mode" will deactivate all electronic assistance and bike will be limited to 6k rpm, so depends on the bike.

Once again. just disconnected cables, valve defaults closed... I think you should have a look at yours to confirm... I've previously done Aprilia's and Kawasaki's, they default open. Not Yamaha... My '16 MT10 was the same... Contrary to what everyone said it should be...

I think you wrong mate saying that if you disconnect serwo wires the valve stays in open position, no, it stays in closed position .

Hello there, Might be a bit confusing but the butterfly/flapper valve is set to open, when there is 0 tension on the motor (I.e. when the cables are slack/removed). The cables are set up with tension from the factory to keep the valve closed, when you remove the tension/cables it sets the valve to its stock postion (OPEN). This motor talks with the ECU to determine how much to open by rpm/throttle open percentage

@@sergeantsodom6969 Hmm thats quite strange, my mate owns one of these and he removed his link pipe to put an akrapovic one on, anyway I've taken a look at his link pipe and the valve is definitely in the closed position, I wonder how that could be if its no longer attached to the cables

@@sergeantsodom6969 On second thought, although he took the link pipe off he DID NOT take the wiring off on the little side bit of the link pipe, like where it goes in a circle you know what I mean? But it looks like you did, perhaps thats what it might have been

On the newer bikes the valve is closed by default so surely as you removed the cables the valve is closed the whole time! Or does the Healtech map it to stay open?
@sergeantsodom6969
@sergeantsodom6969 Жыл бұрын
The cables under tension close the valve, removing the cables opens the valve, as it is spring-loaded to be in the open position when not under tension. Cheers!

@DeanicussMT10 might be worth a go, may throw up an error though if the system doesn't feel load. Not too sure!

Hang on mate if you removed the servo motor but didn't actually wire the exup valve open, haven't you just essentially left it completely closed? Because the valves normal position is closed and you've just removed the pulley system to allow it to open. Typically when people do the servo motor delete they also wire the valve to stay in the open position at all times.
@sergeantsodom6969
@sergeantsodom6969 Жыл бұрын
No it isn't. It's natural position under no tension is open, not closed. I've deleted servos for years and this has always been the way. Never had to 'wire the valve open' before.

@@sergeantsodom6969 I see! I really appreciate the follow up to this! I double checked the link pipe I referred to and while the servo motor cables were disconnected the actual wire around the little ball like that ON the link pipe was still present, likely forcing it closed

@lukataggert8616 I can send pictures of the MT10 as an example if youd like. Can't speak for all bikes on earth however all my yams, triumphs and KTM have all been the type of Servo that's resting position under no tension from cables is open. Which bike are you looking at/seeing this on?
