NO WAY YOU SUCK!😅 This is goofy Doug, the guy that brought my blue '18 mt10 up to you to put a Yosh 3/4 system on and reflash a few months back. The bike is a rocket! Easy to ride even in mod 1 (most aggressive throttle), not snatchy like stock. Flash does SO much more than add power, gets rid of all the stock bike "engine breaking" when you roll off throttle, lower fan temps which is much needed, etc. I bought this bike bone stock, a flash from David absolutely transforms these bikes into a totally different machine! Adding an exhaust brings out the beautiful music 🎶 of the CP4 but the flash is what really does it. $300 to totally transform your bike? Yeah, I would say it is worth it😊.

Thank you for taking the time and sharing the knowledge David. Man, my FZ09 is in pristine condition, clean oil, iridium plugs, 93 octane, clean air filter, 33,000 miles and has had your flash twice. She runs like a scalded rabbit. Not really a problem but she puts out a lot of soot. I' ve rewrapped my Akra can twice in the last 10,000 miles and clean the inside of the exhaust each time. Lot of build up and can't figure out why? As far as advice on your recordings I'd say the info is spot on, maybe add a shop dog or some bouncing dyne hooters for more views.

Black soot is normal. Especially if you blocked off or disabled the ais system. It’s not something to stress about

Dave , this is by far the most informative video I've seen on how a dyno works and the flashing of the ECU. Thank you for sharing this information. I just purchased a 2023 MT-10 on 4/2/2024. The owners manual says do not run the bike really hard until it has a 1000 miles on it. I would like to know your opinion on the factory recommended break-in criteria, I really don't want to putt around for 1000 miles unless I absolutely have to. Also , I would like to install a 3/4 system and have you flash my ECU. I will have to go the mail in route, so are there any issues I will have to deal with regarding error codes etc. once I get the ECU back and install it. Thank You !

Thank you! I break my new bikes in for about 100-150 miles. Change the oil and let em rip After the flash you will get a check engine light for about 20 miles. It will clear on its own. Nothing you have to do When you install the exhaust leave the exup service and o2 sensors plugged in or your cruise control wont work Other than that. Very easy install

I've got to say you have flashed 2 of my MT10's and they were so much more fun in the mountain roads around here. I whis I still had them, but both were stolen. Can you tune a 1290 super Duke?

Hi David. Why there is difference in curves at the start (less than 3k RPM). What is in general AFR your target? What exhaust road legal would you recomend for 2018 MT09, regarding the normal non track torque range (i heard that akrapović and arrow thunder are good due to the curvature). Ty, BR from europe.
@vcyclenut
@vcyclenut Жыл бұрын
3 k rpm is just where I’m starting the runs from. Those differences are me twisting the throttle from closed to wide open at slightly different rpm. I start the runs at 3000 rpm because it’s lower than the rpm range I’m really worried about. Target air fuel is determined on each bike by where they make best power. Typically 13.2-13.3:1. Some are richer some are a little leaner Im not sure what exhausts are road legal over there, sorry

Thank you for providing such a great video~~ If I use the original manufacturer's midsection of the exhaust pipe but eliminate the exup valve, disable the O2 sensor, and perform ECU remapping, can this enhance performance? Will it have any adverse effects on the engine?"
@vcyclenut
@vcyclenut 7 ай бұрын
if your leaving the cats in leave the exup, its wide open above 6000 rpm anyways did you see my results with the 100% stock MT10? just my flash adds a lot of performance here is my development page , there is a lot of info and about 3/4 down the page there is the dyno runs stock vs stock with my flash www.vcyclenut.com/2022-2023-mt10.html

When you tune fz09 do you mess with the ignition tables any ? If so would you kind of give me an idea what I should shoot for for 93 octane.
@vcyclenut
@vcyclenut Жыл бұрын
Yes. Adjusting ignition timing is always part of the flash. It’s adjusted at all rpm and throttle position. Some places timing is backed off some places it’s advanced. There isn’t one number it’s a spread sheet like table . I spend hours on each bike testing ignition timing and tweaking the tables to get the results I’m looking for. Sorry it’s not something I’m willing to share.

Good morning David. I have been wondering what you do knowing nothing about motorcycles. A few dumb questions. Is it dangerous to rgw engine to peg out the rpm's? Did you make any changes between all those runs?
@vcyclenut
@vcyclenut Жыл бұрын
Hello Shorty. Not dumb questions. A zero mile brand new motor , I wouldn’t do Dyno runs with. My brake in procedure is pretty short though and this bike only had about 100 miles on it when I started doing Dyno pulls with it. The runs that are shown( not the stock run I compare it to at the end) had no changes between them. That is why I showed them all uninterrupted. It made for a long boring part of the video but it shows no changes were made as making changes require shutting the bike off , making changes in the software , and then flashing those changes into the Ecu. Usually this takes 15-20 minutes.

Nice Video. Have you increased the RPM range? I see about 300RPM more, from 11400 stock. Have you changed the air filter too, or is the stock filter? It looks like you are a serious player with this game :)

@@KHIJAPAN no. Bit there is no reason to push it further. The power is already tapering off. So spinning it further wont make more power. It already has some over rev. So i dont see any reason to spin it higher

Given what you know about both models, which mt10 ( first or second gen) would you ride for smooth throttle at starts and low speeds. Let’s assume both have been flashed, or not. Up to you. Cheers 👍🤪🇨🇦

@@vcyclenut sorry. I have hand issues now, so I’m always looking for smooth throttle response. My original mt10 was good, but inconsistent. I never got to completely check it out before I had to sell it. That’s why I asked. I may revisit the bike again. Loved the ergos and the engine was great, plus I basically just own Yamahas.
