Hi Rosa, is it possible to find a hospital in Europe and work as an English Speaker? Thank you
@rosasantander60582 жыл бұрын
Hello Liz. Spanish nurses traditionally have gone to UK to work. As an American RN, I think that could be easier for you. In Spain -I am not 100 % sure- there are private hospitals in Málaga, Mallorca and Canary Islands where you can work in English.

As someone who is not a nurse or NP, nor going to school for either one, I sometimes skip these specific videos or don't watch them right away. Always follow the vlogs and insta stories though. Anyway, the point of my comment is that I am an aspiring PT student and I found myself taking notes as I watched this video. I love that I can take some of your advice and see how I can apply it to my own studies in the future. Just wanted to say thank you so much for all the amazing content you put out there. So I don't know if this will help but I'm transitioning from paramedic to RN I've noticed the biggest difference is our use of pneumonics for things like assessments. I feel like this helps so much and is missing in nursing. For gathering a health history we use SAMPLE-AR Signs and Symptoms Allergies Medications Last oral intake Events leading up to the event Any recent life changes (major changes to diet, excercise, or mental health like divorce, loss of a loved one, etc.) Relative history (familial medical history including if parents are alive and what they doed from if not) We also use OPQRST for specifically pain assessment Onset Palliation / Provocation Quality (sharp/dull etc.) Radiation Severity (numeric pain scale and Sedation Agitation Scale) Timing (both onset and duration) There is also COLDERR Characteristics (same as quality as previously mentioned) Onset Location Duration Exacerbation Radiation Relief There are tons of pneumonics used in EMS, too many to list (ABC, AEIOU-TIPS, DCAPBTLS, NAVEL, DICCCE... the list goes on). Mneumonics have always been a great help in remembering components of assessments (among a slew of other things) and I was really sad to see that there weren't a whole lot of new ones to help out in nursing school. Anyways, I hope these could help anyone out in at least building a framework for gathering a health history. I really enjoyed the video and information and only wish I'd seen it sooner!

Scrolling the comments and looked at your amazon page, I know I heard you mention it before but which kit did you purchase on Amazon that has all equipment needed...tuning fork etc.?
@NurseLiz2 жыл бұрын
I bought them all on amazon separately. There may be a kit now that has all of it! I would get the cheapest one because you won't use any of that stuff again. your employer will have it. The only exception being an otoscope if you need that, I got a nice one and use it all the time with my kids to see whats going on with those ears.

I’m in an ABSN program and have been not giving as much attention to health assessment as I have my other classes. I only have health asssessment two hours a week compared to 20 for Foundations, and four for Pharm. My health assessment exam is coming up in three weeks and I am already stressed about it! I have been excelling in Foundations and pharm, but HA seems to already be a weak spot for me. In terms of hands on assessments for the course I am doing well, but the quizzes are very difficult. Do you have any tips on how to organize studying for a health assessment exam without going crazy?
