@BritGirl-fg9gj5 ай бұрын
@Canuckgirl152 If you look at the back window on that new black truck, you will see the BB logo. It's Justin's truck. That being said, it's not the landlord's responsibility to pick up renters' garbage. There was a new SUV sitting in the driveway. Ten to one it belongs to the son. He could at least take the garbage to the county dump site. Some sites have attendants that can help unload.

@@BritGirl-fg9gj Your right I didn't notice that, , I seen the new SUV and most likely it does belong to the son, I noticed him getting into the house pretty fast when his mother came out to talk to them. It's only the landlords job if that is directly stated in the lease - and if it is the landlord's responsibility he is charging a yard service fee within the rent. Landlords usually don't care for the yards of houses rented in the country - often it's difficult to get them to care for the structure of the building.
@JeanetteFaith5 ай бұрын
No. Tons of years ago I went through a divorce and moved to a new state. I rented a cute house the first year. It was clearly stated in the contract that I would mow the lawn and trim shrubbery, etc... once a week or they would do it and charge me! Luckily, they loved me because I am a great gardener. So, they found old bricks and helped me build a walkway, and bought flowers and camillas for me to plant. Even replaced the front door and mailbox with even nicer ones. They LOVED me!

@papatomsthoughts I agree, the renters need to write up a contract with landlord. So they know who is responsible for the up keep. Where we live, you rent you take care of the basics, including watering and mowing. That's part of renting a home vs. an apartment. Truly, most renters don't have the equipment. When you look at that huge yard, the landlord should take care of those trees and the huge shrubs that are too close to the home, which affects the home with potential damage to their investment and potential damage to the renters property. The renters should push this owner to come take care of his responsibilities because of landlord's liabilities in those potential damages. So, I hope you folks read this and motivate whomever you rent from. Thank you, boys, for lending a huge hand.

In the rural south it's highly likely that there is no trash pickup service that comes by their home or if there is one it's a private service with a monthly fee but each county does have a trash dump area where people can haul their own trash to that location for free. That yard trash has been collecting for years - it's a small problem that became a big problem when no one in the family made trash runs to the local dump.

Interesting bit on running out of gas. It reminded me of a man who recently weathered a tornado and then went in to town to help others. He said it was really important to be prepared...to have food, water, equipment, gas, repair supplies, etc. because services were disrupted and you could become stranded, a liability or endangered instead of an asset. In your courage and willingness to go help others, this is part of the foundation. Glad you traveled to help this family, they needed the safety, accessibility, space and view boost, as well as to know that people cared. I'm pleased you connected with these people, and arrived where you were needed. Nice work raising the branches on the front tree. This cleanup was/is going to be nice for the renters, passers by and the neighbors next door. Excellent that your work helped with safety in exiting the property. Actually, congratulations on your creativity in coming up with how to transfer gas from the push mower to the stand-on.
