Ok, I don't know what her original problem is, but it sounds like she has GERD. GERD sucks azz. Imagine having acid reflux or heartburn, but IT DOESN'T GO AWAY. Based off of context, it sounds like she was dealing with GERD and most likely stomach ulcers. If you leave GERD untreated it can damage the lining of your stomach. She is probably taking meds to help her body heal her tummy, heal her esophagus (acid reflux can damage it) and also keep her GERD at bay. That 30 minute thing clued me in. I take this medication called Omeprazole ER - its basically a 24 hr version of Prilosec. Aka a proton pump inhibitor. It reduces the amount of acid your stomach makes. It has helped my sleep tremendously and stopped my coughs and sore throat. I no longer wake up in the middle of the night to bile in my throat or mouth.

If indeed that is the case perhaps if she was able to contact kaela as the blacksmith could offer some advice considering she has that exact condition. I know she sometimes uses oxygen but obviously every individual is different
