My wife has now got her S1 through , I am now eligible to receive treatment in Spain as I piggy back on her S1 . My question is would I also be able to use the NHS when in Britain ?

SS we said on the show, yes, if you’re covered by the S1, you can use still the NHS

@@Cal-lamos no, the S1 covers you for healthcare in Spain. And now it also means that if you’re living in Spain you can still use the NHS’s full range of services while you’re visiting there.

I believe that you still need health insurance whilst visiting the UK and you also need to have yourEHIC which entitles you to free medical assistance.

Is this insurance covers for an ambulance to pick you up if you need to go to hospital for an emergency?

With private healthcare cover, you’ll have a number to call on the back of your insurance card to access the services you’re covered for. An emergency ambulance would be one of those services

Hi, Skatz, where do I go to join the Convenio Especial. Now coming up to my 1st year here, private medical runs out 1st Dec, am I too late to apply for the CE ??? Thanks Emma 😊

Hi Emma, you need to have been here for a year before you can apply, and it can take a few months to get on it, so you’ll need to renew your private policy for a year and apply for CE a few months before Dec 2025.
