Something for owners to keep in mind: In 1997, the AVMA (American Veterinary Medical Association) came out with the strong recommendation to never use the scruff area for vaccines. No vaccine (adjuvanted or non-adjuvanted) is to be given in the scruff area under any circumstance. They are to be given as low on a limb as possible. This is to allow for limb amputation if a VAS (vaccine-associated sarcoma), although rare, occurs. Here's to happy, healthy cats!

My little puppy was over vaccinated they gave her two different shots with one of them having three things in it but the other one was one alone but had two of the same vaccines she was double vaccinated and she was 3 lbs i thought she was gonna die and so i took her somewhere else and showed another vet the paper work and thats how i found out she was double vaccinated the first office wanted to charge me for medicine they had to give her I was so mad i almost sued them for it. Anyways i thought this second office was gonna be better but now everytime i go in the office they try to push every vaccine i tell them no and they all just try to make you feel like they have to have it so someone please tell me how do you know where to find a vet that isnt just about making money!!

Are booster shots needed 3 weeks after the vaccines are given for a puppy? Or is the 1x enough
@HealthcareforPets3 жыл бұрын
Hi Ana, great question. Please have a look at our dog vaccination schedule resource for core and non-core vaccines: www.healthcareforpets.com/resource/canine-vaccination-schedule-core-and-non-core-vaccines-for-dogs/ All the best 😊🐾

The vaccine you need are for disease your pet can pick up from environment rabies, lepto, parvo, distemper for pets that go out side but kept in sight and just go out side for enrichment. Cats that go outside and run in unsupervised will need also fiv and feline leukemia vaccines because they are more likely to tango with other animals directly. That’s my understanding I’m not a pro.

Yes exactly, not every pet will need to be vaccinated for all diseases. For more info and advice about which vaccines to consider giving a cat visit: www.healthcareforpets.com/resource/feline-vaccination-schedule-core-and-non-core-vaccines-for-cats/
