Great video💪 a tip for others interested… if you’re into liver, boil and purée that as well. As a spoon to your veggies and that gives them iron and other nutrients😅 my son loves liver, maybe cos I love it hihi. 😊

Thank you so much for this, my baby is almost 7 months, we’ve just been doing the jar baby food and haven’t been as consistent. He’s still been drinking a lot of milk I want to get him to eat more real food though. So I’m buying all these ingredients tomorrow and making my baby all of these. I started feeling like a bad mom but now I’m going to make changes!!

This was PERFECT timing! Gearing up to feed my almost 6 month old. :) I mostly did prepackaged baby food for my last two babies as I was a working mama and didn’t take the time to prepare much. Now I’m a new SAHM and want to spoil my last baby with the best food possible! This was great!

The square silicone ice cube trays at walmart for like $4 (and somilar everywhere else) are basically 1oz portion exactly. I would freeze everything in those and pop them out as needed to make food mixes or pop them out and store them in containers if i needed more trays. Easier to know what portions and how much baby is eating.

@buffpanda527
@buffpanda527 11 ай бұрын
@@lilyelias1048 just thaw or microwave in 15sec increments and mix/mash in-between each increment to avoid scalding spots in the baby food. Mix in cereal powders if using them (or formula for older baby) after its warmed up. All your food should be precooked prior to being frozen to reduce bacteria.

An idea to add some sweetness to oatmeal is by using the water from steaming/boiling any fruit like apples for instance can be the same water you use to cook the oatmeal. It's a natural sweetener and you don't need to worry about it doing harm to your baby.

Just a heads up for you and anyone else who is going to use breast milk in baby food: breast milk should never be refrozen. For example using frozen breast milk for purées then freezing those purées is not safe. Instead you could thin the purées before you serve them or you can use formula or water instead of breast milk and then freeze it 🙂
@LP2488
@LP2488 3 жыл бұрын
I'm just happy someone said it because this is exactly my thoughts when this video started. It's so important to be careful with this and also the oatmeal could very well be done with boiled water and add the breast milk into the portion baby will be eating on that given day!

actually formula shouldn't be used to freeze - you can't/shouldn't freeze formula. I just add a bit before I serve the puree, after defrosting it.

Thank you for the video! My sweet girl is 7 months old. She is having a slow start with solids. Any foods with sugar in them (sweet potato, sweet peas, etc.) give her diarrhea. :( she has an immature digestive system I guess. Since she has been eating vegetables with no sugar, she has decided she doesn’t want to eat much anymore. I’m looking forward to adding cinnamon to see if that helps her eat solids again!

Great video! FYI - studies show that heating breastmilk beyond 110•F significantly detoriates all of its good nutrients. Adding the breast milk in just before serving is the best way to optimize all those nutrients rather than using it as a liquid to cook with.

Just for heads up to all mom : Do not cook a lot of food by age of 6 to 8 months babies needs only 200kcal . & 80% is for breast milk or formula . Your baby won’t eat alot either because 6 to 7 months she is learning how to eat . My daughter ate only 2 spoon of tea a day ! From 6 to 7 months . Now she is 7 months and 2 weeks and she starts eat 3 table spoon of purée. Try to cook only for two days because the. Nutrition still after 24 hours .. other than that don’t do it . My daughter loves broccoli & potatoes purée, zucchini purée with chicken , sweet potato with carrots 🥕: she loves : papaya, pear, & avocado 🥑. She hates Apple because of the acid. Don’t put salt on baby food until they turn 12 months ( use : onion or leek, parsley , and olive oil) . Please be patient and don’t force your baby to eat !

Not sure about the baby food quality elsewhere, but in Hungary it’s the same as you’d do it at home, no preservatives whatsoever. For some reason my 9 months old son rejects everything I cook for him for lunch, and eats absolutely every store bought baby food 🤷‍♀️ it’s literally the same ingredients, so not sure what his problem is 😀 anyway, still trying my best tho :) just saying that store bought baby food might be the only thing that a child is willing to eat and those aren’t actually as bad as people think

Cinnamon is not healthy for adults or children in excessive amounts - unless it is real (Ceylon cinnamon). This is because the type that comes from the cassia tree and is usually sold as ground cinnamon contains coumarin, which can be harmful to the liver over a long period of time. Therefore limit the intake to 0.3 g.

I think all nutrition guidelines should be taken with a grain of salt and that most babies will probably be fine. That being said, recommending to add cinnamon to a bunch of food is just not adviseable. It has been shown to cause liver damage. The safe daily limit is about 1/30th of a teaspoon of cinnamon for a 8kg baby.

I’m 37 weeks on my second baby, it’s been 13 years since my last pregnancy so I’m kind of new to this again (: I never made my own food with my first daughter I bought all that store canned baby food 😳 This video is super helpful and so are some of the comments I absolutely can’t wait to try out these recipes! Thank you for posting! Also what temperature is the stove preheated to?

How long did you keep all the prep food in the fridge and when you took the frozen food out of the freezer how long did it last before needing to be thrown out.

Is it early to prepare purée when you pregnant. I am afraid that there won’t be time for this.. and how to unfreeze this product- in the hot water (not microwave)?
