Great video, so useful! My niece is 6 months and my husband and I are caring for her right now. Prayers for her mom who had a stroke and brain aneurysm. She loves to eat potatoes, egg, carrots, baby cereal, applesauce, and chicken. I noticed she loves homemade food more than Gerbers and all those brands

This is exactly the kind of content-rich 20m video I was looking for, 1-2hrs of work for a month's food prep. You toured through all the foods, leaving the details to written notes, provided your resources and products for fact-checking concerned parents. I greatly appreciate how thoughtful your content is, from title to video to notes. Thank you so much!

An idea to add some sweetness to oatmeal is by using the water from steaming/boiling any fruit like apples for instance can be the same water you use to cook the oatmeal. It's a natural sweetener and you don't need to worry about it doing harm to your baby.

Really good video. Healthy and easy food. I used to do almost the same for my first daughter. She loves brocoli, rice and beans since 6 months now she is almost 3 years old and still love that. In 5 months I will start feeding my second daughter. One thing I didn't see was about how long is good to keep food in the refrigerator and when I did research fir my first baby it was 3 days in the fridge and 3 months in the freezer. Also about breast milk just added when baby will eat.

The square silicone ice cube trays at walmart for like $4 (and somilar everywhere else) are basically 1oz portion exactly. I would freeze everything in those and pop them out as needed to make food mixes or pop them out and store them in containers if i needed more trays. Easier to know what portions and how much baby is eating.

How do you heat from frozen pls?
@buffpanda527 Жыл бұрын
@@lilyelias1048 just thaw or microwave in 15sec increments and mix/mash in-between each increment to avoid scalding spots in the baby food. Mix in cereal powders if using them (or formula for older baby) after its warmed up. All your food should be precooked prior to being frozen to reduce bacteria.

Just for heads up to all mom : Do not cook a lot of food by age of 6 to 8 months babies needs only 200kcal . & 80% is for breast milk or formula . Your baby won’t eat alot either because 6 to 7 months she is learning how to eat . My daughter ate only 2 spoon of tea a day ! From 6 to 7 months . Now she is 7 months and 2 weeks and she starts eat 3 table spoon of purée. Try to cook only for two days because the. Nutrition still after 24 hours .. other than that don’t do it . My daughter loves broccoli & potatoes purée, zucchini purée with chicken , sweet potato with carrots 🥕: she loves : papaya, pear, & avocado 🥑. She hates Apple because of the acid. Don’t put salt on baby food until they turn 12 months ( use : onion or leek, parsley , and olive oil) . Please be patient and don’t force your baby to eat !

Great and informative video! Thanks mama. I do have a few questions/comments. If you’re going to roast your sweet potatoes, why don’t you peel them cut them up into little cubes and then put them on the tray with a little bit of olive oil? It would be much easier to purée after they get out. I do this with squash too. Alternatively, You could steam them which is much faster. For the hard boiled egg, try cutting it in half and then the yolk will easily come out (:
@annazilar89322 жыл бұрын
Babies aren't supposed to have the extra oil and they shouldn't have any roasted blackened bits on the potato. Just needs to be straight sweet potato. The way she's doing it is ensuring its steamed inside the skin of the potato instead which makes it safe to eat (:

@@annazilar8932 olive oil is actually VERY good for babies :) it’s a great source of healthy fats and vitamin E which supports a healthy immune system. And there are no black bits when I do the sweet potato. It’s much easier than having to peel it afterward :)

@emmariddle9553 жыл бұрын
Just a heads up babies actually aren’t meant to have cows milk until they are at least a year old because their body can’t process it properly which might be why your daughter is showing symptoms of allergies (vomiting, fever, diarrhea, etc). So perhaps you should try again when she’s older (obviously talk to your pediatrician about it though!)
@jellymumma90423 жыл бұрын
@@emmariddle955 thank you for the info. This was actually suggested to me, you can give her porridge oats and mix it with cows milk. Little did I know as I went with the professionals, I tried it, and there it was, she was allergic. We have an appointment soon with an alley clinic to get her tested so hopefully we'll know weather it is cows milk for definite. I'm hoping she will grow out of it as she gets older, which is what the pediatrician reassured me with, thanks for the info 🙂
