Hello Ma'am. I have BP for 7 months but I observed I've developed synkinesis. My right eye gets smaller especially when I smile and chew. I asked my therapist about what *ve observed on my face but she doesn't know about synkinesis. She taught it's still BP . I still have regular theraphy using electric stimulator and facial exercises which I think worsen my synkinesis. Please ma'am help me. How can I improve my synkinesis? Thank you and more power.

Hello I'm 6 weeks into my BP. I do have improvements im able to raise my eyebrow and close my affected eye about 90 percent and when i smile my affected check goes up partially. When does synkenesis usually develop if it does?

Hi Synkinesis can develop any time post bell's palsy while you are regaining your facial movements, its critical to identify and work on it immediately.

I wanted to ask, Can synkinesis cause loss of signals to the muscle we want to move? There's less movement in a muscle that i wanna move, But i feel movement in another muscles too.

Synkinesis is a habit, that you form due to bell's palsy. Any habit needs to be broken but comes with risk of recurrence.
