You are lucky. My baby will never sit so calmly and eat, like in this case, he would already get restless to hold the katori by himself, try to grab it and pull it and finally topple it! Also , purees are recommended at 6 months and from 7 month onward the baby should be given different textures like crispy, crunchy, and everything that the family eats ( hand mashed) but not pureed..

Pls join Traditional Weaning group on Facebook. Very informative and good support. So much purees are not needed. First give hand mashed lumpy texture and soft cooked food. Baby will learn to chew. They don't need teeth to eat. They can very well chew soft food. With purees they only gulo and later reject food.

My son is 8 months old I have another option for you for lunch recipe for your baby I add some olive oil ,onion, tomato, garlic, cumin powder, chicken breast pieces, carrot, potato, zucchini, peas. For my son you can try these too And even apple ,carrot and rice or apple carrot ,potato or even apple, carrot cooked in cows milk or another option apple rice cooked than add mashed banana.
