I'm French Canadian and I went to B.C. in 2008. My English was not so good and a store employee asked me if I wanted a bag for my purchases. I asked her to repeat 3 times because all I could comprehend was a "beg". I was confused and I felt quite dumb! I think it's a Canadian thing! I've heard a few others pronounce "bag" similar to "beg".

Oh also - hands down the best way to do broccoli and all my friends have agreed when I do it for them - use a little oil and fry it then as you’re frying it drizzle something over. So for example if you’re making a curry, drizzle the juices over. If you’re doing a roast dinner drizzle the gravy (this is the best!) if you want them Asian mix some miso paste, soy sauce and garlic and drizzle that. And then it goes all sticky and still has bite. Unreal honestly!
