I'm not surprised the shrimp was overcooked with that light spay of oil you hit the pan with. In my experience, adding a liquid oil is much better and doesn't burn and dry out the shrimp as easily as a thin spray coat on the cooking surface.
@NickPolegato2 жыл бұрын
Agreed but when we're talking about healthy cooking, it's easy to let the fats get away from you. A spray oil helps reduce that.
@nez9751 Жыл бұрын
Spray oil can be good, but to be honest when I buy a spray oil , I ended up pouring away the contents and putting real oil in it, and I often use that. 10 spays or so equals just a spoonful of oil , and you can distribute it easier. So I do like spray oil but not the horrible processed white stuff , use real oil, but spray it.

Thank you for your video I really do appreciate the help but I have one concern the soy sauce has too much salt and to avoid from gaining weight from sugar and salt you have to lighten up on your salt and also your sugar intake but other than that I love your video

Is there enough juice in the pan to use for 2 people who want this meal and want juice mixed in rice or should I double the sauce recipe? I really like liquid mixed into my white rice so it’s not as plain

Yes they are. If you omit the rice it’s 253 cal, 4.3G fat, 20.6g carbs and 31g protein. Enjoy!

you can also add the rice into the shrimp and broccoli as well, if you made a little more sauce anyways LOL

Would Agave syrup be a good sub for honey??
@NickPolegato2 жыл бұрын
I’d recommend using a tsp at a time if subbing. Honey is subtle in its sweetness. Agave can be potent.

Next time I would like to see the use of metric units of measurement, because the 1/4 cup style is not the best for dieting. 1/4 US cup is 59.1470591 ml ~ 60 ml. Cups come in different shapes and sizes so calories can quickly add up. For example raw garlic provides an average of 111 kcal per 100 g, it does not sound like much but 100-200 calories deficit is all you need in order to lose body fat. When dieting you will count your calories more precisely if you weight your food on a cooking scale. I would take out the half of the rice and add more vegetables, spinach, mushrooms, cauliflower, carrots, bell peppers, onion etc.! It would make the meal much more filling and lower in calories!
@NickPolegato Жыл бұрын
Thanks for taking the time to write that up! It’s great that metric is more accurate than US imperial however, not everyone around the world uses metric. My audience is 60+% American, so I will continue using imperial as a measuring system. I encourage people to use my recipes as a guide and if they are tracking calories to input any recipes in a calorie tracker using their own ingredients. We will also continue to release our cookbooks in both imperial and metric so that everyone can use their preferred system. With that said, some of the recipes on here are in metric so go check those out!
