Here's my Updated Hair Routine / Hair Regimen which helps me to manage my new growth as I transition from relaxed to natural hair. I mentioned in my transitioning to natural hair update video, that I would do a separate one showing you the methods I apply to help me manage my new growth, whilst transitioning. These methods can also be applied to those with relaxed hair, who are on long relaxer stretches.
Here are the steps;
Step 1 - Moisturise My New Growth
Step 2 - Massage Coconut Oil into New Growth.
Step 3 - Detangle my hair
Step 4 - Moisturise my hair
Step 5 - Seal my hair
Step 6 - Baggy My Hair
Hope you find the video useful!

Do you have a video for how you achieved this style and the upkeep for weekly and nighttime routine ?
@HealthyAfroHair

+HealthyGemini I don't have one for this actual look, but do have a 'Braid out' video on my channel on how I create my braid outs. But again, the upkeep is the same as mentioned in my previous comment.

+yani coral Hey, yes I did a video on this braid out style some years ago now (before I cut my hair) but I used different products to what I use now. Overall how I create the style is more or less the same; kzbin.info/www/bejne/l3XNaZ95dtCWb8k

I hate those knots!!! I take my time too when it comes to those single strand knots!!!! Question, don't you hate when you're gentle and you hear a hair break off!!!! I freak out when I hear it!!! LOL!!!! I'm stretching (21 weeks post) and plan to relax for Easter. Great video and much success on your transition!!!!

+sweetfm2008 OMG...I hate them! 😡 It's so funny that you mentioned that, thought I was the only one 😆 I get so mad and my blood starts to boil. But I'm at a stage where I'm getting use to it (unfortunately). Anyway, thank you and hope all is going well with your hair.

after a year box braiding over and over again I'm ready to leave them out and just wear my hair! Maybe I'm even gonna cut the remaining straight ends, but It depends on how much my hair has grown. I'm gonna wrap my hair also like this from now on. Thanks for inspiring me! ps. I'm about to make my own deep conditioner do you know if banana, avocado, olive oil, coconut oil, aloë vera (pure from the plant) and honey is a good combination?

Amazing video 😀! This is really helpful. I have a question. It would be really nice, if you could answer 😊. So i relaxed my hair for 4 years twice a year and now i realized that on the left side of my head is a space where all the hair is gone. Only the new hair is still there but i never realized any hair loss or hair lying around on the floor. Its really strange. Do you thing its damage from the relaxing? And sry for my english 😂
@HealthyAfroHair
@HealthyAfroHair 9 жыл бұрын
+mimi pupu Ohhh...glad you enjoyed it 😊 That's really strange. I'm not sure if it's due to relaxing, especially since the rest of your hair is ok. Have you placed any added tension on that side? Like wrapping your hair often, starting with that side? or brushing?

Do i put moisturize on my hair while its still wet or do i wait until it is dry?
@HealthyAfroHair
@HealthyAfroHair 8 жыл бұрын
If you're doing it daily, then it's best done dry. If you're doing it after washing your hair, it can be done when the hair is damp (say around 80-90% dry) or when it's dry.

I have transitioning hair as well and no matter what I seem to do, my hair always feels dry. Even when I put oil, shea butter or a leave in, my hair doesn't seem to absorb any of it. My hair, while oily to the touch, still feels dry. What am I doing wrong? Should I do a protein treatment?
@jadaanikaa
@jadaanikaa 8 жыл бұрын
you probably have low porosity hair meaning your hair doesnt let moisture in what I recommend is steaming your hair to open up the hair follicle then apply any product you need to
@joanikens

deep condition over night and apply oil while ur hair is wet
@HealthyAfroHair
@HealthyAfroHair 8 жыл бұрын
Yep, definitely sounds like you have low porosity. Good advice about steaming. You can carry out a moisturising treatment whilst doing that to allow it to penetrate, injecting moisture. Also when moisturising your hair, apply oil after, to help lock it in.

Thanks guys! Any product recommendations? My hair doesn't seem to like shea moisture, ORS, camille rose naturals, cantu shea butter, eSalon, entwine couture...I'm losing hope lol. the only detangler that has worked for me is kinky curly not today and as a styler hydratherma naturals.

To transition from relaxed to natural hair, do you have to cut it?
@HealthyAfroHair
@HealthyAfroHair 8 жыл бұрын
No, you don't. I just thought it would be easier because I had long hair and dealing with knots & tangles would have been too much.
