hi dr. marbas, i'm aware that you're take complement's essential multivitamin which contains selenium. but you also mentioned in the video that selenium in supplement form would be a point for concern... is the amount of selenium included in complement's essential multivitamin safe?

Hi Laurie. I love your videos and the great info. I was wondering how I can raise my ferritin level? I had low iron and saturation now those are in normal range and my ferritin is 10 what will help with this?
@DrLaurieMarbas8 ай бұрын
First I would figure out the cause not eating enough iron rich foods, heavy periods, GI absorption issues, etc and then I would consider a supplement like Solgar but only once you spoke to your doctor about it.

@@DrLaurieMarbas Thank you. My doctor tried telling me it's heavy periods that's still hard for me to believe though, I do have heavy periods. My issue with believing it is because my saturation was fine before and my iron would go to normal range where more recently both Iron/Saturation stayed low for a yr. Now question I thought it took 3 to 6 months for iron/ iron saturation to go up? I ask bcz a month ago my iron was 41 and saturation 11.Now my iron was 73 and saturation 16%. Now this happened once before but it was because I took an iron supplement same morning of labs, but this day I did not. The only thing is I had a vegan collagen drink that has a small percentage of iron and is made from greens and has amla. Could this have gave me a false? And ok I have all the issues you mentioned, could be multiple things. I will ask my doctor about all when I see her. I have another question since I know you know a lot about the subject. I have never had an issue with blood sugar, usually I run 85 to 91. The lowest it's been on a blood test is 73. Ok so I have been fatigued for 2 wks do I had labs done, I thought it would be Iron but it wasn't necessarily just that, thyroid is mostly in better range bcz that was second guess. It wasn't those things but what was on there is that my blood sugar was 51. Now I had that began collagen shake this morning and a banana and a Powerade how could it be so severely low? And what can I do now to get my body to a better point where this stops? I have not a lot of knowledge with it, but would like to learn. I have been trying to balance meals more closely and normally I drink a good amount of water but it has been a struggle lately. So working on that and doing the best I can. Any advice is helpful and so very much appreciated thank you so much.

@@DrLaurieMarbas also thank you for the reccomendation on iron.i wish I had known this existed before, will do best to try to get it. I don't currently have an income so that makes it hard. So question if I am not able to get this supplement, what could I do to help? Also I do have Iron supplement(s) I have Dr. Christopher's Herbal iron, I have mega foods iron, and veg life iron supplement could you look at these and tell me which would be best? I also have the Iron the doctor prescribed. My thought is though I don't want to get too much iron so what is the best way to do this? Thank you.

You mentioned taking an omega3 supplement. As for testing, what omega-3 index do you recommend being above?

If you eat a diet that requires supplementation (protein, B12, heme iron, omega 3, omega 6, calcium, vitamin d, iodine, etc), it can't be a proper human diet?
@DrLaurieMarbas8 ай бұрын
These are just points. You can get everything you need outside of B12 on a plant based diet.

@@DrLaurieMarbas Understand. However, these are CONCERNS when doing a plant-based diet. That is why you created this video, right?
