Sure, Strip is great. The 46 year long career speaks for itself. But only 7 piston cups in over 4 decades!?!? That’s not even 2 per decade. Strip never came close to the dominant peak that McQueen and doc had. If not for doc’s crash, and the op new-gen cars forcing McQueen to retire, strip isn’t even top 2. McQueen had just as many piston cups in a quarter of the time. If mcqueen wasn’t forced to retire and had a 46 year long career like strip, he’d have north of 25 piston cups. Also, McQueen had 92 wins in just 12 years. 92!!!! If he played for 46 years he’s probably getting 400. I’m not saying strip doesn’t have a case for goat, but it’s not as cut and dry as u make it seem. McQueen was clearly on goat trajectory, and he would’ve been the unanimous goat of any sport if it weren’t for the supercars forcing him to retire. Strip is also a system racer. He was on the Dinoco super team his entire career. Give him the rust-eze supporting cast that McQueen had, and I’m not even sure if he’s getting 3 piston cups. How can strip be the goat of all goats if he’s not even the goat of his sport? Do better next time heaps. Do better.

A lot of "hypotheticals" going on here. If McQueen has Dinoco, could he be the GOAT? It's possible. But Strip Weathers took paycuts to ensure the cast around him was even better, displaying absolute selflessness. McQueen? He cared to much about his own image to improve his supporting cast. Not to mention, McQueen being "forced to retire" is just him not adapting to the overall evolution of the league. Strip played for 46 seasons, you think he adapted??? Pretty clearly yes. I can see the argument for McQueen, but excluding all "ifs" and "buts", it's the King 👑🔵

I know you didn't want to step on any toes to keep this funny and comparing greats with a fictional character, but I think it's fair to say the GOAT of GOATS is between Michael Jordan and Tom Brady. I would give greatness to both, but popularity and almost-single handedly popularising basketball worldwide would be Michael Jordan!

I respect this take! Personally I agree with Luke, I think it's Gretzky. If there's an NHL record, Gretzky owns it. Jordan and Brady definitely make the case for next in line!
