What an honor to see such a beautiful instrument being played….not just admired in a glass box.
@johnhunter2294 Жыл бұрын
There are employees at the Stradivarius Museum whose job it is to take these magnificent instruments out of their cases and play them, usually two or three times a year. Apparently they lose tone if they are not played. To paraphrase, "A Stradivarius is safe in a museum, but that is not what they are for."
@jacklambert152117 күн бұрын
Indeed. An instrument is meant to bring joy and beauty to the world. How can it do that locked up in a display? An instrument MUST be played the way a book MUST be read.

The Stradivarius is exquisite but it is the master violinist that brings her to life. A beautiful combination.
@billlembke1768 Жыл бұрын
It is not any better than any other violin. People say it is better or the best so that they appear to be more cultured, knowledgeable, or an expert. It is like when says a very expensive bottle of wine is the best, until they find the fake label is actually on a cheap bottle. There is little or no difference in quality, just the perceived value. For the violin, you could polish a very inexpensive one, make up a detailed story, and say the value is $100 million. Many self-proclaimed experts would agree to promote their own identity, showing how shallow they are, and not suffocated.
@dasportsfan212211 ай бұрын
@@billlembke1768I have been blessed to try a Stradivarius around 10 years ago, and trust me mate, there is a hue difference between that and my normal 5000 euro violin
@SatanLiterally9 ай бұрын
@@billlembke1768 you would be right if we were talking about a master crafted modern violin. Those are often chosen above Strads in blind tests in terms of sound. But it is very, very different from lower quality student instruments. There certainly is a lot of snobbery and adherence to tradition in the classical music world, but to say a Strad doesn't sound better than other violin just isn't true. It is worth noting that these are also centuries old instruments that have been cared for and maintained to remain playable in the modern era. Their value isn't solely for their sound, they are also pieces of history.

I’ve played violin for many years, but the clarity and depth to the sound this violin produces is second to none. Those notes do not sound the same on a regular violin, and if I had to guess a reason it would be the chamber of the violin. I think it’s perfectly shaped in such a way that it allows the sound to echo out from inside at almost the same frequency and strength. Incredible.

@@ACoustaDC At that level u're spending a lot of time w/ the instrument every day, so it's never out of sight. Most top professionals hv rigorous daily practice routines, 5-8 hrs a day. I asked a world-renowned bassist I know how much she (transexual, used to be a man) practices, she said "That's all I do." Don't know anything about her acoustic bass, but she's remarkable! Electric bass another story. She's not at all rich, but she should be! That's jazz for u.

Oh my goodness it is truly beautiful. I can hear it. I was going to be critical but wow. I understand it's amplified by the ideal acoustic surroundings but man that is undeniably one of the most beautiful sounds in existence.

That TONE! Smoother and richer than the finest chocolate that melts on your tongue, creamier than the softest caramel you've ever tasted, sweeter and more fragrant than lilacs in Spring, more inviting and warmer than any luxurious velvet bedding. This violin is special.❤🎶 ❤

They don’t make them like this anymore, except studies show that when a pro doesn’t know what they’re playing, they prefer modern violins over million dollar strads.

The character on the lower notes is like a spikes through the air- so sharp, fast and deep. Like a tiger stripes on it's back. Really fast and responsive tell. And the higher notes are sweet, gorgeous and extremely precise with completely no tails. It filling up everything around in the room with it's bright gentle light. It's singing like it should- a classic sound of an instrument that should be in front of everything. It's a soloing instrument that i always love to hear! You can only describe a nuances with your imagination by seeing through, then you will see what it's made of. It's just flying weightless with a wooden soul tuned to show you a piece of eternity within. Something like this))
