Well apparently its a creepypasta In this video i assume the whistle (playing in the background) is basically crying and did something to the toad, and then took over mario, since his vocals also have the whistle's sound

English commenter here. Blood Whistle (which is what the song is based on) is an infamous and atrocious creepypasta about a creepy ROM hack of SMB3. From what I know, this guy was too afraid to play it alone and called his friend to watch him. After playing, the guy game ends himself because it was too scary for him.
