Hearing God's Voice - Session 2

These meetings have a special emphasis on flowing in the Holy Spirit and typically involve a time of worship, followed by teaching and ministry. We had a message from Mark Virkler. Mark's hunger to hear God's voice was rewarded in 1979 when he set the entire year aside to learn to do so. God gave him a breakthrough, which is recorded in the books How to Hear God's Voice and Dialogue With God. Mark has traveled worldwide since 1984 teaching the Communion With God weekend seminar. God has given him a commission to saturate the world with the message of communion with God.

The most difficult part of hearing God is the fact that it takes time to learn to discern God's voice -- and it takes a humble heart. Jeremiah 29:12-13 says, "Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart." We can't make demands on Almighty God. We can't shake our fist at the sky and say, 'all right God, let me hear you.' But we can ask, seek, and knock, and the Bible promises that God will open the door. God will reveal Himself to those who humbly seek Him.

He talks to us everyday. If one reads the Bible then you know Him and the Words He speaks of what way to go. It is daily He speaks. It is beautiful

hello is there a biblical reference to your statement in that if we ask God to speak to us before we go to sleep then the first 30 minutes of our day will be God speaking to us? Thankyou

even if there isnt it makes sense , cuz in the morning nothing is disturbing us so god can get our attention easily( and you can recall your dream)

Didn't Jesus say pray to God? So why do we have to picture Jesus when trying to hear God's voice? Why pray to Jesus and not God?

We pray to Jesus cause He was given All authority over earth and heaven. The bible transitions our faith,so you must move with God in the Spirit and you will know what roles are played by each and how to reverence Him. :-)

we have to picture Jesus because Jesus is the only way to the Father. we don't pray to Jesus because Jesus Himself told us to pray to the Father in His name.

Because the Bible says we have access to God through Jesus. Read any of the first 4 books of the new Testament

@@KrisTheCodeManDude Yes, we pray to God the Father, through the Lord Jesus (that is why we say "in Jesus' name), Although just believing that it is only because of Jesus that we have that access (instead of the priest in the OT (Old Testament) temple being our access) to the Father is really what "in Jesus' name" means. However, when God manifests Himself to the NT believer, it is usually looks like Jesus. We have never seen the Father, but we know how Jesus looked (like a human being) and we know what Jesus said, how He talks, how He represented the Father - so we can relate and recognize. If someone mistakenly calls on Jesus in prayer, instead of the Father, Almighty God is not that petty to refuse to hear them, (it just speaks to that person's level of understanding at that period of their walk. Besides the Triune God is in unity with one another and they are each God together. Hope that makes sense. I have asked that same question myself, and this is how I understand it.
