I have schizoaffective disorder, and though mine are less frequent than this, it is pretty accurate to how they sound for me, except for the weird machine sound in the back, but I do also have tinnitus so that doesn't help. But sometimes I do hear random sounds like doors or papers or common noises like that that didn't happen in real life but they did for me. Or randomly being called by name or just hearing a clear "hey" in an empty building. It sucks sometimes. But yeah, this is decently accurate for my experience at least.
@ryanchencinski93112 жыл бұрын
I've heard the name of this disorder my entire life due to my father having it and intimately the reason my parents split, he never received the correct treatment or atleast good treatment for it for years and years and countless psychiatric hospital stays. It manifested in his self probably in his early 30s and never got correct treatment till his 40s. He would become "immune" to the meds over and over to the point where everytime they started to get slightly less effective the disease told him he was fine and doesn't need meds. Everytime having worse and worse episodes to the point he didn't know who anyone was and who he was his personality everything was gone 100%. Probably some of the most scary and traumatic times I've had in my entire life....I'm 30 and never heard anyone outside of the family even mention the disease most just think its psychophrenia. Oddly enough I'm still not entirely aware exactly what the disease is or does, it has always been a touchy subject in the family and really never got talked about unless he was not doing good. It hurts so much to see your father you know your whole life become violent and completely 100% different person. He went like 10 years no issues until just a couple months ago....adjusted meds and is better. I'm extremely sympathetic of your condition and wish you a very happy healthy long life. I often wonder if my daughter and I will develope it at some point. Could you explain the difference from psychophrenia? And interested at what age did you begin to show symptoms serious enough that treatment became necessary? If you're comfortable answering, sorry to pry just Interested for mine and my daughter's mental health to be honest.
@AtypicalTyler2 жыл бұрын
@@ryanchencinski9311 I'm so sorry about what happened with your father. I can't imagine how that must have felt seeing him go through that all those years. I am 20 now and was actually recently diagnosed and introduced it so I'm not comfortable giving a full explanation; still doing research and trying to understand it myself. But one of the main symptoms that ended up getting me diagnosed was hallucinations (audio, visual, physical, scent) and I started having those at a really young age (possibly kindergarten or preschool age) I distintly remember telling my parents about the horrors I saw and heard and them brushing it off as my imagination. I'm still a bit mad at that memory; but I get it. So to be honest, I don't exsactly know when it started; I just know that by 15 it was so bad that I was worried and panicked and couldn't sleep most nights. I started drawing them and people just thought I was really into horror. It was a relief when I got the diagnosis a few weeks ago. It finally made it feel like I wasn't so broken and alone. They are still getting worse and more frequent, slowly; but now I have a name for it. I do hope you and your daughter the best. To be honest I hope you both never have to deal with it. One peice of advice, if your kid says they see or hear something, don't just brush it off. It might be "real" or it might actually be their imagination, but as I said mine started in childhood and I still remember my first realistic hallucination, but no one believed me when I told them. Called it an "imaginary friend" and then I thought everyone saw monsters. Treat her monsters as if she actually saw them, because it's possible she might have and if (everything forbid) she ends up having it, having that trust and communication of letting you know if she sees or hears or experiences anything weird, might help her with a diagnosis sooner. As I said, I sincerely hope you both never have issues with it. I wish you the best.

That used to happen to me quite often a few years ago... usually they were just mental images of places where I've been or which I've seen before (like deja vu-s but without a prompt). They just randomly popped up inside my mind from "nowhere" and for no reason... I got scared to death not because of the images but because I couldn't understand the reason of them popping up in my mind randomly and without any imput / thought related to them. I thought I was getting mad... but after a while (some months / a year) they disappeared and never came back luckily. I still don't know what it was (I've never heard any voice though and I don't have any mental disorder as far as I know. Except an auto-diagnosed mild OCD which also went away by itself).

Once upon a time I heard voices but they weren't 'outside' my head. It was like having a constant negative friend that would beat you down constantly and that would happen whenever I interacted with anyone and did absolutely anything or I had alot of noise in my head, like a lot of conversations going at once, made it hard to concentrate.

The only time I’ve hear voices is when I stayed up like 2 nights sniffing and I had college so I went outside to dry my clothes in table dryer and I thought my mates taking to me when they was the other side of the house upstairs in my room then on the bus again thought my mate it was his voice was talking to me I was like what and peoooe looked at me like wtf he on about🤣 then I know I was tripping and all through the day when he wasn’t there at college I heared his voice round the college thought he was behind me or something lol but that’s probably having no sleep

Reminds me of my old apartment building, lol. Sometimes, my neighbor would stay a few nights in town, leaving her apartment unoccupied. While she was gone, I could hear people in her apartment talking/whispering. Gave me the creeps😬

So i'm not schizophrenic, but I have ADHD, the voices can be dangerous but also very joyful I don't know how to explain it, it's not as harmless as a schizophrenic. You just keep hearing voices and that it. But you also have to include the fact that people like me, like us can have a moment of deserialisation it's not harmless for anybody including us but for 1 to 10 minutes we can act somehow not as we use to, say things we never said out loud and then, when the things is over u're not as hyperactive as you used to be 2 second ago 😂

When it got to the part where a bully was talking to me, I just laughed at them, it was funny, it was like a furry hater was calling me stuff, it was entertaining to listen what no-good material they had, laughed my ass off 🤣

I have Schizophrenia and I have to say you either go crazy by this or like me. Who became so use to it I managed to ignore them but it still messed with my thoughts and the way I think. Some time I even have trouble distinguish between the voices and actual people calling out to me.

I've heard this while listening to music on my walk home today, I couldn't make out want the voice said but it was male and asking a question, something like "Who are you?" or "Where are you going?", anyone got any idea what it could have been? I can only really go further to say that it sounded like it was under my music, inside both my ears, kinda like people inside my earcannels in front of my earbuds
