It must be the way our brain processes hearing our own voice that makes us cringe. Judging by the fact that others do not seem to be traumatized to the point of disassociation from the voice that they're hearing tells me that they hear my voice differently than I do. I hear my own voice and I automatically tell myself that it isn't me. It is fascinating that so many are uncomfortable hearing their own voice though.
