Thank you for that. I knew I didn't have the right fingering on the solo, but could not figure out what Howard Leese was doing, even though you can sort of see Howard Leese actually play the solo in a video. It's still hard to tell from the angle. It's an awesome solo and you nailed it! You posted what is probably the only really accurate fingerings for that solo on youtube. Your piano transcription is also really awesome.

Nice one! Heart was my first real hard rock concert! I saw them in the late 70s when Heart was Led Zeppelin 😂. I was in grade school and was absolutely blown away! Roger Fisher was still playing lead guitar back then (I of course, had no idea who he was at the time, just knew I liked what I heard), so good! As much as I love 70s Heart (and that is my favorite era), they did a great job of attaining greater success in the 80s as well. Have a great weekend! Beautiful song, intro, and solo - like how melodic solo is and ends on high bend while bass walks down, perfect use of contrary motion in a power ballad! Carl made me realize just how beautiful piano intro was due to his guitar arrangement - great chord progression! Excellent! The solo was great on that song and you nailed it great! for your subscribers and viewers to really know how that solo was put together to get that melodic feel, like most ballad solo's, is chord targeting, explain why each note that you are hitting why it sounds so great and the solo notes in the chord transitioning, and higher octaves lower octaves back to the higher octave crescendo, there's not that many notes in that Solo or any great melodic solo it's just the arrangement emplacement make them so great that only a human can do on a guitar no A I. Anyhow what I'm saying to make your lessons perfect that would be a suggestion for your intermediate guitar players who should know the notes on the fretboard and basic minor/ major theory, that would go a long way to turn that "light bulb" on for most players without totally confusing us like the super technical teachers, I could name a few haha. Great lesson Carl!! My fiances been on a bit of a Heart kick lately so shes been getting me to learn plenty. Really sucks about Annes recent diagnosis. I just seen you'd done the lesson to the solo/godfather theme Slash did in Tokyo 92' with Guns. Is there anyway you'd do a lesson, or please consider doing a lesson for his and Gilbys version of the solo/Wild Horses cover they did that year in Tokyo? That would be so cool.
