Mateus bending and sliding was insane how smooth he can make it. But Jens carrying out his motif through non diatonic change really stuck with me. Everyone else was sustaining notes at that high point like it was a rule you had to. Everything was great but Jens line is now haunting me in the best way possible

Good observation. That's what Mateus was refering to when he said the first part sounded like a cliché: subconciously everybody had some Stairway to Heaven-ish references, except for the 2 guys you mentioned: Mateus, who muscled his way out of the conventional references (and imo kinda got too carried away at times 😅) and Jens, who, being a jazz guitarist, is unshackled by the conventions the track carries. Having said that, I still found some high quality moments throughout all the performances, like Martin's resourcefulness or Julia's gorgeous feel.

I love Jens’s understanding for form and musical structure. While all others clearly articulated part A and B (B=when the song slows down) Jens made something I would call a “lead-in”. In classical music there is a similar idea to connect antecedent with the consequent. The ending Motiv of the antecedent in measure 5 is the beginning Motiv of the consequent. It’s called elision. Also I wanna mention Paul’s feeling for short repeating cool sequences, a pleasure to listen to. And Julia’s smooth alternating fingerpicking was great to observe. It was a great idea to make a collaboration like this Paul. With all these great guitarists and their different approach gives us an insight to analytical thinking. Great job, keep on going.

As someone who has never liked watching Marty Swartz's videos, because he usually only teaches the beginnings and basics of songs, his solo might have been my favorite. It was basic, but not simple, using scales that most beginners can play. But more than that, his timing was excellent. I think the others were trying too hard to play at the edge of their ability, to give you something you and your viewers would find impressive, while Marty tried to make and play something that sounds good. That makes a big difference. Marty spoke through his guitar, while the others made their guitar speak.
