Gratitude I introduce myself my name is johanna and I am a photographer and I am interested in the video related to the spiritual. Soon, I have a video project with two women who make sound baths mainly gongs and Tibetan bowl, crystal, harmonium etc. The idea is that I film them when they play. And please do you know what type of recording microphone is required for gong recording please? Because the vibration of the gong is more difficult to capture and I wonder for a project what microphone I would need to capture the best sound possible. I can get a microphone RODES VideoMic model, do you know if it can correctly capture the sound of gongs? Best to try the mic you have...if it works..good..if not..upgrade..That said..this is pretty involved stuff..and a Rode mic to cam is really not great unless you have some real good music and recording/editing skills..Problem is..different volume levels..and how to blend these correctly between the different instruments..You may well be better served with a zoom recorder..set to omni at the correct distance..and go from there..Good luck!Cheers,TS

Mics don't really matter all that much...unless you are going up to really high end stuff..from 4K mics to pro studio etc..Kinda like guitars..If I buy a top end Gibson..will I be as good as Jimi Hendrix?..probably not..Its not about the guitar..its about the player..Same w/mics..its what you do with what you got..and that takes skill and experience.Good luck!TS
