I love her whole character and i haven’t really seen the show yet. She’s adorable, legitimately regrets her actions even if it was not her own, and is willing to suffer through the collar again just so she doesn’t have to be alone. By the way he behaves, you can tell when is Rio and when is Haruto calling the shots. Is he pragmatic, curt, no-nonsense, death-glare-giving? Rio. Is he caring, understanding, empathic, polite? Haruto. So, when he is reasoning with her (up to the point she brings out the collar), it's Rio being pragmatic (and a 'little' intimidating). But anything after the Collar, especially the sandwich part, that's pure Haruto. This is what makes Seirei so cool.

@@WolfshotPlayz It actually takes him a while in the novels to fully resolve it, because his inner monologue in the beginning doesn't have a chance to even start until after he gets into his dorm room. His morality as Haruto is in conflict with Rio's pure focused revenge against his mother's killer and blackpilled attitude of the world, it is just animating the series removes the more direct statements on that. Not to mention he has to struggle with being Rio while also being a dead man with no future, even if somehow he could be teleported back to Japan. Haruto softens Rio on top of giving him the added knowledge which makes him more flexible to a situation and Rio gives Haruto's knowledge the pragmatic experience of having to actually survive day by day, making him more realistic. In the first book when he's still with the gang it is pointed out that Rio was not the first kid to be used by them in an assortment of crimes, he did what he could to make sure they didn't throw him out like the others had been over the time he was there.
