An hour-long Q&A session with SCA UK regulars Consultant Cardiologist Dr Tom Keeble and Clinical Psychologist Dr Marco Mion. They both work at the Essex Cardiothoracic Centre and are members of the Cardiac Arrest REcovery (CARE) team and are possibly the most experienced clinicians in the UK helping cardiac arrest survivors and their families.

My son was on bete blockers ,statins , and blood thinners for years before his cardiac arrest so you wonder why he had one. he had no memory of it and lost chunks of his life five years on he has issues of memories

We're sorry to hear of your son's experience, but medications can only mitigate the risk of further issues and are not a 100% guarantee that something untoward won't happen. Without them it may have occurred sooner and there is overwhelming evidence to show that these medications reduce the risk in the population as a whole
