At last, someone simply chanting the sutra. No ridiculous music in the background and no photos of landscapes and stuff. Thumbs up...

Kind of kills the mood for traditional meditation when you have Mozart playing in the background of Tibetan Chanting of the Mantras.

He is Geshe Lharampa i.e Doctorate in philosophy. He is well versed in Sutras,Vajrayana and Dialectics. On top of that he has under gone vocal practice to be Umze or chant master. So this deep Cosmic sound is product of years of training. He deserves some respect. TATYATHA GATE GATE PARA GATE PARA SAM GATE BODHI SWA HA

This chanting style takes years to perfect. The monk is chanting in 4 different tones...almost like a chord. The reasonating sound calms and clears our obscured minds and opens the possibilty for real peace in our hearts. May all beings benefit!

This is not coming from a "religious person." This is coming from a human being who knows the importance of compassion and that it is needed to show it to all people so we do not kill each other over our own personal opinions.

Agree with the previous comment. Have searched all over the internet for a actual genuine chant rather than a silly musical, commercial version with lot western music background. Thanks for the upload.

Oh my dearest brother, I felt that wave, half way through, sent from the anahata. It was so powerful, it went through with the deepest green spectrum, and a rhythmic shape of a tetrahedron. This has now become the second part of my transcendental meditation experience on a daily regimen. May Brahma, and the Buddha bless you on your journey through these many lives until you defeat the self, and become those upon high. Aum muni muni mahamuni soha!

The sounds generated from chants can be very healing.Sound is energy.This chant is one of buddha's best if you ask me....Try chanting om about 25 times and let it vibrate.With a little devotion and faith you could use a mantra very effectively. OMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!
@Terrible_Peril
@Terrible_Peril 16 жыл бұрын
that rumbling 'om' sound is said to be the sound of the energy of the universe. i suggest eating a handful of mushrooms or maybe a few hits of acid, getting some nice headphones and listening to at least 15 minutes of an OM mantra chant up on a nice hill. sit in some grass in the sun if that is available to you. just sit out there and look at nature or the inside of your eyelids. you'll probably have some feelings that you'll want desperately to share but aren't sure how. like you're 'connected'

the sounds in mantras "vibrates" in a way that benefits us (in ways that we cant even imagine)... Like Om Mani Peme Hung ... the six syllabled mantra of the bodhisattva of compassion, Avalokiteshvara (Tibetan: Chenrezig) This is the most beneficial mantra and most used in buddhism

look up kargyraa tutorial on youtube. kargyraa is a Tuvan variant of throat singing that is very similar to this. If you can do kargyraa imitate this monks mouth shape and there you have it. I have taught myself how to do this, it may seem impossible at first but with consistent practice it is learnable.

Valid points. I wish more people would use that mass in their skulls more often. Especially these days. I consider myself someone who subscribes to Buddhist concepts but remain thoughtful and mindful of what is going on around me as it encourages. At least I hope I am. Unfortunately, I have met my share of sheep in Buddhism. Though not as much as when I was in christianity. But that is just my limited experience.

We all have priorities to decide about during / along our limited perion of one's human life on earth. The right way to choose is to do in your time maximum of your personal plan. Each chapter in ones plan can rather be a higher degree than the former one in gettin nearer to personal fulfilment and personal or group satisfaction. For me a good rule is: As old Hillel said to his pupils - WHAT YOU HATE BEING DONE TO YOU, NEVER DO TO ANOTHER PERSON. Monks and priests , other teachers for right way of human life! Important rule is: Firstly keep yourself not less than the standarts that you preach for. Respect others whose priorities in life are not the same as yours because together you may learn mainly from mistakes of each other.

Wake your inner self & maybe stay awake. Choose to sleep & you stay asleep. But always you choose. You are always right... for you! As for chanting... it isn't a 'performance' for others. Its something that is different from the inside when doing it & after time the resonances have a profound effect on the brain. Peace!

I agree with you on this. I do like buddhism, buddhism got some really good philosophy - exept, offcourse, the deadly soul, paranirvana, karma, and a few other things based on blind belief. I'm almost tempted to call buddhism a philosophy with religious elements - and those religious elements bother me.

@willoughbyandalexis . The Throat chanting is mostly done by the chief chant master, not necessarily by every monk. In a monastery hall, where thousands of monks gather to chant and pray together, without mikes and sound systems available during those days in Tibet, the chant master's throat chanting could have far better reaching (i.e amplify) to all the monks in the hall. the second reason could be the energy the throat chant generates in one's body. But this is only assumption from my part!
