What an incredible video. Am recently Dx w/ severe AS. Due to have OHS end of April. Am 69 yrs old. Was evaluated for TAVR, but my annulus is fairly small, so being on the younger side, my team of doctors decided best option would be OHS. The information in this video was very helpful. Thank you again.

Wow, thanks Adam, I requested this one, its really appreciated, especially since I am in Indiana so good chance I will have Dr. Gerdisch as my surgeon. Dr. Allen from Florida also answered this a bit when I asked and he mentioned that the calcium was kind of like surrounded by something, but if it breaks off as easy as Dr. Gerdisch explained, that seems like contradictory answers, though he did say its very rare to have it happen. I wonder what keeps it from doing that?

Can they do TAVR on BAV in Boston Brighams and Women, I was told no. I told doctor I wanted my file to say I wanted natural valve, not mechanical but he advised against it. I saw my father on Coumadin for 20 years and bled souch or easily. Arms almost purple and always had to have level tested. I know there are some other newer meds. Just turned 59 and doctor said due to my age I likely would need it replaced so he advised against. I also have high cholesterol, issues inflammation, two TAA besides Bav. At 4.5 last check and have another MRA in may. My father's descending aorta ruptured.
