Her smile is so adorable. And i don't get ppl who hate Kaoru for being weak or whatever. She's a child who was born in peaceful era unlike Kenshin. She's a swordwoman, not a real killing machine or a soldier who fought in wars. She uses her skills not to fight for real, but to give lessons to earn money for the whole family!! She's the one financially supporting all those kids & guys relying on her dojo to eat. And she's doing all that at 17. She isn't any less than Kenshin for not being a killer like him.🙃 Instead, she's probably the only one in the whole series who has her shit together.

Why would anyone hate Kaoru? She's the only light on Kenshin's dark world. She represents hope on Kenshin's. She's a fresh breath from all of Kenshin's life chaos. That's why she became that precious to him. She's the only thing Kenshin can turn his life around, the only person he cared so much he's willing to kill again just to save her. She's someone who Kenshin hold onto to not succumb to be a killing machine again and hit rock bottom again. When he gave a flower to her and says like "take care of this" meaning he likes what he is nowadays because she changed him. And he needa Kaoru in order to not go back into his old self again. Just a week ago, I watched Accented Cinema's brilliant video essay on the first three films. Coincidentally, just a couple or so days ago, Netflix released all three and their exclusive final film centring around the Trust and Betrayal story in South Africa. I finished all four films early this morning. It was amazing. Update: I finished The Beginning a couple of months or so ago. It destroyed me. I also keep going to that scene in the 3rd film with Seijuro about the will to live, as well as the scene with Kaoru after Kenshin was released from jail. The Beginning, made Origins a strangely more emotional experience for me.
