One solution to make the binding of a Coptic stitch more pronounced as it attaches to the covers is to double stitch that portion. Also, the loosy goosey is part of a Coptic binding but by using perlee cotton instead of waxed linen you will get more motion because of the nature of the thread. Try doing one with actual bookbinding waxed linen and you will see the difference. Also, your motion is going to get more and more pronounced because the twisted cotton stretches every time it’s manipulated

Thank you. That makes total sense. I have been using bookbinding waxed thread for my other journals so I will have to go back to that. I agree waxed thread is better and didn't even think about the perlee cotton and how it would stretch over time. Lesson learned!

@@heartandsoulfuldesign trust me. This knowledge is total BTDT. I thought my variegated pearlee thread would be beautiful and used it in a 5 needle coptic binding. It was a total waste.

I feel your pain....I have an art journal I stitched with the wrong thread and you know how long that takes....has to be completely redone. Live and learn....

Great job on the bindings. I have never tried these.
