Using the strap itself to stabilize the camera is a brilliant idea I didn't think of (and really wish I did after just returning from a trip with a lot of blurry 300mm shots), thanks! I've had this strap for a few months and it really is a massive improvement over the basic straps I'd been using before; cost is obviously debatable, but for how nice it feels to use and how often I'm wearing a camera strap, I honestly think it's worth it. Kinda like how office chairs are ridiculously expensive but if you're using one all the time, for years, might as well get something good.

This was a great review. Thank you. You stuck to the point and gave a great visual of what you were talking about. You mentioned key points that I needed to know about that aren't covered in the manufacturer's ad but from the perspective of the artist.

Does the silicone anti-slip still leave marks? I have seen reviews where they leave black marks on clothing.

I personally haven't experienced that so I don't believe so.

Correction; The Peak Design Side Light does have the silicon/rubber texture on the backside of the strap just like the Slide does. Peak Design also makes a smaller/thinner strap called "The Leash." It's great for smaller cameras or lenses. All three straps use the same anchors so you really only need the anchors for each of your cameras and one or two straps. They also make a very nice wrist cuff that also uses the same anchors. (And no I don't work for Peak Design, I just love their gear).

Bought one recently & its way too short. For the price another 6 inches wouldn’t break them

@@HeartbeatsPhotography “There were 'literally' a million people there, or I 'literally' died I was so scared. When people use literally in this way, they mean it metaphorically, of course. It's a worn-out word, though, because it prevents people from thinking up a fresh metaphor for whatever it is they want to describe. ''
