Why did Secunda hang on to the original master-tapes and wouldn't he give/sell it to Jungle records?
@junglerecords Жыл бұрын
It's a very long and complicated story! He moved on to other things; his Track Records experience left a very bad taste as he didn't get paid. He was meant to get rights to master-tapes in lieu - Hendrix, T Rex, Shakin Stevens etc. Then we came along and claimed the Track Heartbreakers tapes. "Danny wants to break your legs" was an early, half-in jest first response!

This might be a really pedantic question to ask, but is there any info about which studio and which day each song on the found '77 masters was mixed? The alternate mixes have info like "mixed on March 22nd at Ramport" and stuff like that.
@junglerecords3 жыл бұрын
No; the only info on the tape-box is the track-list - as seen at our website, and on this video. I guess you could TRY to work it out by looking at the tape boxes shown in the Definitive booklet. Many had ‘extracted’ written against a mix - when they liked a mix they’d snip out the tape and compile it with others they liked. (So we were left with outtake mixes to choose from.) Then you could check the sound of each particular studio to narrow it down. And dismiss Advision mixes, those were Jerry’s after this tape. (Daniel left Track just after this, and wrongly assumed the ‘mud’ was due to Track using Jerry’s mixes.) So if you’re inclined, you could attempt some detective work, but god knows how far you’d get!

Album poorly packaged by mfg. Inner record envelope so tight, I think removing record caused scratchy noises. Either that, or a really poor pressing. Very sad being brand new record and seems better sounding LAMF but have to turn up high to be appreciated. Any one else bought this would recommend carefully cutting open inner record envelope to get record out and hopefully avoid possible scratching. Very disappointing. I found this album was impossible to get Jul 17 RSD and had to eBay. Fortunately, didn't pay too much but many asking for a lot more. Maybe wait if CD might be better. Poor Johnny and the boys. Still getting schtupped even deceased and us too in the process.

Sorry to hear that. We've had no other complaints about the pressing, however static from the vinyl somehow made it difficult to remove from the inner bag for the first time. A bit weird but that shouldn't cause scratches. CD version is due at the end of October.
