@johnsoos6907 Жыл бұрын
@@JMarinelliI met Peter & asked him about that. The story is true, but somewhat exaggerated, according to Peter. Peter was playing with a band at The Metropole. The engagement was for a week or 2. That band was opening for Gene Krupa. Peter said they used to bust Gene's balls. He said that Gene showed him some things, but it was never really a formal lesson. It was Gene being gracious with his time & talent. Peter said Gene was a great guy. I've seen pictures of both Jerry & Peter, with Gene, at these gigs, so it's very likely that Gene might have shown Jerry some things, as well, or both of them together.

One of the problems about the Dolls .....Sylvain was the best spokesperson ...( Not David ) Their management thought it was all in the bag , like there was nothing to do but wait. So , Sylvain " Saved" the photoshoot for the first album , Sylvain told us what was wrong with Johnny's guitar sound on the second album , Shadow Morton ( Shangri Las producer ) wouldn't let Johnny record with distortion. David was quoted ( Where he was championed / Creem Magazine Detroit ) like this ; " Anyone in this band can be replaced..." ( Type of shit David came to verbalize ..) David was Hanging Around with David Bowie's girlfriend. Cyndra Fox ..(.The 2 of them were getting photo Ops ...and not the band ) Johnny same time had married and had 1 son already , he married a Woman who's brother was in rock. She is 6 ft. Tall (+)....and , all this attention was on David & Cyndra. The Hippodrome show got no Press....so most recent press was ; Creem Magazine " David & Cyndra ...and ' can be replaced ..' Robert Chistagu ( David's New York Champion Village Voice ) came only to 1st show @ Hippodrome...and screamed at David ; " Blah blah what do you want me to write about the commie flag . " ( I was third person in hearing range " So Village Voice printed a tiny mention that was ...nothing . McLaren had No NY contacts in the press.... This is why Johnny quit.

Damn, homegirl had Jerry Nolan providing some awesome and unprecedented info in this interview, basically gifting her a 'once in a lifetime/ inside scoop of a story' offered up on a platter for her eyes only if she would have had the tenacity, diligence, steadfastness, or journalistic gumption to make it happen! Not only was Jerry agreeable and charming, hypothetically he would have been a very, very, valuable and extremely pertinent and extremely timely& knowledgable, authority on the whole Sid and Nancy calamity, not to mention Sid's unfortunate passing! A story dreams are made of, gift wrappped for this kid! But as we just were amazed to witness..,.She went the other way on that one dropping the ball, and beefing-it, so unforgiveably, and colossally-pathetic that.....Im still speechless and Im not joking! Nolan was so up close and personal with Sid and Nancy that last year of Nancy's life, he could have provided an extremely, reliable and unique perspective regarding the why, how, getting warm, not even close theories regarding that night. Not only that tho, Nolan was also buds w/Sid's bandmate and good friend growing up( Lydon)! As Jerry was just about to gift this rookie reporter with the scoop of a lifetime.....My ears were literally perking up awaiting this 'green-ass Journalist in- training' to follow with something along the lines of "So did you and Johhnny think Sid had just snapped from being pushed too much, after being so patient w/Nancy's manic behavior, or do you guys think it just wasnt something Sid could ever have done! Or were you two of the opinion (that many whom were close to the couple seem to be, which was that Nancy was killed while being robbed as Sid nodded out in the other room oblivious to Nancy's life being snuffed out by some piece of shit living in the Chelsea)....Yaa guys, if anyone could justifiably comment on that and shed some insight on that, it would be you guys being so close to Sid.....So Jerry, would you please elaborate on that conversation you had with Johnny...". I mean Geeez! Maybe some questions like that possibly? Anything at all to maybe shed alittle bit more light on a massive mystery where facts have been hard to come by!!! Who knows? I dont know, but good God woman, it seemed as ifJerry was totally ready to open up and provide some insights or even some answers that only him and Johnny could have provided! Thats what it looked like anyway, but then again.... I could be wrong! Anyhow, Jerry Rules 4 ever! SID RULES ALWAYS, Johhny interviews Rock/PiL Rocks, and the Sex Pistols were the greatest (up through January of 78) and Nancy was smokin' hot & Kicked ASs !! Peace
