The body camera video released today is absolutely atrocious! She's telling the cop that he's white and poor and that she's black, rich and famous and do they know who she is and when he finds out who she is he's going to feel ashamed of himself! I do not understand how Karen and her attorney thought it would be a good idea to turn down the plea agreement and proceed to trial with this body camera evidence out there! It's either extreme arrogance or extreme ignorance! Her sentencing is on the 29th of January and judges do not take kindly to defendants standing before them and lying to their face so if she starts talking about how somebody ran her off the road she's going to find herself in jail because there are eyewitnesses and there was no other car involved. As she crossed the median she hit it and then hit several street signs before finally colliding with a tree! At one point she loses her balance and tells the cop "I am lit" and he responds "I know that's why you're here"! I just cannot understand how someone who has the money to get an Uber would take the chance on driving home so totally impaired! She could have killed herself and others in the process but thank God no one was hurt! The second thing that is so concerning is that this is not her first DUI! She needs to accept responsibility and humble herself before the judge because if she appears at her sentencing on the 29th with her arrogance insisting that some car ran her off the road I would be willing to bet that she will end up in jail!

I lost my parents(59, 60) to a drunk driver so I get triggered by this sexagenarian using her very old parent’s passing as a manipulation tactic instead of being remorseful. She didn’t do better even after having prior offenses so she needs to go to jail so she can learn and not hurt someone.

The reason most of us get hurt is because we tense up (called bracing) which significantly reduces our bodies ability to escape injury (it also depends on what part of the body is impacted). Most drunk drivers do not realize that they are about to potentially experience trauma from a crash, so they never tense up. This allows them to walk away from a crash where their victims who are aware of what is about to happen tense up, making them much more susceptible to injury. I've read of skydivers who had minor injuries after their parachutes and backups failed to open. One man reportedly hit the ground at 30mph and walked away. I'd wager they likely passed out before impact.

So very sad! Sorry . 😟 My friend and I were hit by a drunk or high driver years ago, but thank God that we were alright except for whiplash. We were in an old steel ( lol) Lincoln Continental, and the drunk was in a newer fiberglass or whatever car. The front of his car was all smashed up, but that Linc only had a tiny dent and scratches. The drunk got the car started again and took off down the street in a huge puff of smoke! We were just happy to be alive. 🙏 I can't stand folks who drink and drive. 👎
