This song is not about a human for me. But my childhood golden retriever. I had to put him down. And when I picked him up to bring him home to bury him. This song came on the radio. I had to pull over. I always think of my loyal friend when this song is played. Never had another dog that compared to that dog. Dogs are the darn best thing

So sorry for the loss of your loyal friend. We had to put our dear Shane down many years ago. Losing a dog is like losing a family member. You can never replace them or forget them.🐾🙏🏾🐾

The 70's ballads were so amazing. There were no computerized voices, no auto tune, just pure, raw music and vocals. Nothing today even comes close.

I love this song , I played it all the time back in the day . I still have the 45 record of this somewhere. It's weird but I always loved sad songs. Another song by Henry Gross, who sings great falsetto, is "Shannon" also a tear jerker. You should check it out Harri.

Harri, I've always loved this song, but hated how sad it was, but then I find ... I loved that too, and how strangely, it made "me" feel better, if that makes sense. I mean, I hate that someone had to sing it, but it was done so beautifully, almost in a way that would make the person with the broken heart go, "Yeah, I guess I understand". Basically, he was trying to explain 1 of those situations where 2 people get involved, each knowing it is a temporary thing, but when the day comes that they have to split, 1 or both find that they are in love, and someone has to be the 1 to break the heart of the other. It's a terrible situation to be in, but I don't know anyone who could tell this story any better. I love songs that can do that ... describe feelings that at least most of us have had, and make everyone who hears it understand it immediately. It's like Jim Croce's Operator, which you've just reacted to, or Carole King's, It's Too Late, which you (pay attention) NEED to do 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. Thanx for this one, Harri. I am always amazed at the songs you find, because 1) I know them and 2) no one else seems to be finding them or reacting to them. Great job !!!

I always loved the melody of this song. Such a feeling of Nostalgia it gives me. I think, if you listen to the words of the song this is nearly every Sailors theme song. "No man is married after they pass Gibraltar" Lord Horatio Nelson Adm. His majesties Navy 1753

Hey Harri, I was just looking over an older reaction you did for the Allman Brothers, and realized that part of my post, listing songs for you to react to (at you request) was mostly missing. I must have zigged when I should've zagged, but regardless, you only got 2 that were sort of "welded together" 🤣 (i.e. no space between the names), so that didn't help either. Anyway, I didn't know if you see updates on older posts or not, so I am enclosing that (Allman Brothers) list here as well: Fillmore East Album: 1. In Memory of Elizabeth Reed 2. Stormy Monday 3. You Don't Love Me (Caution !!!! This one is 19+ minutes long) Eat A Peach: 1. One Way Out (I think you did this but called it "No Way Out") 2. Les Brers in A Minor (AWESOME Instrumental) 3. Melissa (Beautiful, haunting, sweet song) 4. Trouble No More 5. Blue Sky (Sweet acoustic instrumental) Brothers and Sisters: 1. Ramblin' Man (Southern Rock at its finest) 2. Jessica (another kickass instrumental) BTW, you need to also look for Gregg Allman's solo stuff too like, Midnight Rider (the Gregg Allman version, not the Allman Brothers version), and Queens of Hearts (so sweet and lonely, but even it gets into its own instrumental section).

Sounds to me that this man was having an affair while his wife or lover was absent from the home. The opening lyrics make it pretty clear. Or maybe i’m wrong. If I’m wrong, can someone please correct me.✌🏼 I love your reactions. Great job brother.😉

I always go back and look at your earlier reactions... cuz I love them. This song! Of course, we girls loved it and did, indeed, sing it over and over.... but... as a grown woman, I look at this jerk as a narcissist who took advantage of us young girls... he walks off and leaves us in the dust. But, overall, an excellent song. LOL

Maybe not quite a very nice breakup song as it’s kind of about ending a relationship with a mistress. Something along those lines anyway.
