I assume Oda approves, considering he's said himself he doesn't want the One Piece anime to be a panel-for-panel copy and that he appreciates some interpretation.

@@lapanthanim Exactly, the anime until Marine Ford was a glow up for the manga, despite the low quality in the first few years and the lower budge until a few years ago. People are taking other titles to do the comparison as if One Piece follow the same metric, even knowing they are receiving last per episode compare with a seasonal anime the animators don't hold back in adding details like that.

Hmmmm they were half destroyed in LRLL by Kuzan, then in Thriller Bark, then they were destroyed on Sabaody, and Luffy was destroyed by Magellan later. Personally the reason this death destroyed me is... Well, there are many reasons, one of them being the fact that Ace died following his nature which is tragic and fulfilling in some way... The fact that he was so young too. And all the themes that tied to him in this arc... Damn

iam so happy so you guys manage to this far. 🤗 My reaction to Ace's death scene was sad when he questioned whether he deserved to be born. but what I thought at that time was "please don't die in front of Luffy, he just lost his friends, he will be even more lonely." and when Luffy cried hard, my tears were unbearable. well I spent the whole day trying to calm down and got a headache. It was really a peak experience because I didn't read any spoilers either. one of the saddest episode. no matter how many time it still hurt to watch. i really love your reaction.😘

Now that I've reached the end of the video and I have shed my guaranteed tears for Ace, this was like an allegory for life. It's like a tonal shift that colors every other stressful moment that happens because it is no longer true that "No one dies in One Piece!", and hammers in a hard lesson to our thick headed protagonists now broken heart -> People die. Actions have consequences that can be permanent, safety is not guaranteed. Just because people have their own adventures, that doesn't mean they won't be risking their lives on their own adventures. Not a single One Piece fan was ever truly comfortable again. Anytime someone looks to be in mortal danger, the copium levels shrivel up and the thought bursts in like the Kool-Aid guy but instead of Oyeah its "OhNO...Normally I wouldn't be worried but last time I had hope, Ace died 🙃"

I know u already finished Luffy/ace flashback, so we can talk about that. Maybe u cannot understand at the beginning why ace did not escape from Akainu, but after the flashback u knew that ace simply is just like roger who never gave his back to enemies (and ace too as Garp said to Dadan speaking about roger), indeed ace, against bluejeam and against akainu did not hold back, even if he could have escape. Another thing to take in consideration, is that he has a massive respect to whitebeard, he followed Blackbeard despite whitebeard itself suggest him to avoid, just for the sake of whitebeard dignity, the same thing with akainu’s trap. Despite he knew it was a trap he didn’t hold back, and didn’t let the name of whitebeard get dirty. The same Oda let one of his character underlying that it was a trap, that’s because Oda wanted to highlight Ace’s loyalty for whitebeard, and the nature of his blood (king of pirate’s blood). Btw nice reaction as usual! 😁

whit beard dies standing is a omage on a legenday samurai, his name was benkei, the legend says: Benkei stud befor the entrence of his comanders castle and died ther standing, he was pirced by arrows. not a single Enemy had the courage to pas by his deat body even after he was dead. at least dats wats the legend says. but it is a fact he died standing, to putit simple(not to medical ;-) ) if someon dies during utmost efford the body is able to maunane sutch things. but if you wana know more google it. i did its wery interesting
