Kevin, the way I play the main riff is by alternating between the F and G notes on the low E string, and ending the riff on A#. The strumming before the vocals start is Gmajor, Fmajor and A#major. During the chorus, I run down from chromatically from A#, so it's A# to A to G#, then play F to G again before repeating the chorus. You'll have to listen to the song for the strumming pattern. The guitar part in the original song seems to use lots of timed delay, whereas I use tremolo and some choppy strumming to do something similar. Cheers!
