Giggling Inventor is insane in Control Mage. You can play it anytime and ping your inventor as the Jaina DK to get 2 annoyotrons and a water elemental, which is almost universally obnoxious to deal with.

Yeah that actually shocked me. I mean I guess if he has the cards to just flood the board again then he can afford to call a potential bluff.

Hey man I just started playing the game and you're the first "guide" I landed on. Just wanted to say that I really like the way you present your information and explain your cards turn by turn. It really helps me understand the game more. I look forward to watching more of your content.

Beezus The Nerd Since you're a new player and might not notice some of the key mistakes in Sean's deck building (in my opinion), I'm going to point out a few of them for you to help you learn to build your own deck when you get the collection going (I'd love if everyone played their own decks in hs): - Little to no aggro prevention (The deck does not really do anything early game except for doomsayer which is killed by the pointed out Void Ripper) and there is always a TON of aggressive decks out there. - Research project is just a bad card in control - It draws both players 2 cards, so equal effect, however you have to draw it first which is a draw essentially wasted (you could have drawn one of the cards from playing the spell). This gives you essentially 1 card draw and your opponent 2 (this is called giving your opponent a card advantage of 1) which is worse than not actually playing a card. (That said, if you're playing aggro/midrange you might want it to keep up tempo (probably not anyways - otherwise why not run the murloc that draws instead?) or you might run it to have card draw in your deck, but avoid fatiguing yourself - but in a control deck, it is essential that you don't give your opponent any card advantage. The murloc gives you a small body and the same effect and could therefore be considered, but generally you want better cards.) Feel free to ask if you have any questions. Others - feel free to correct me and/or give additional tips.

Hah, very true. Though, to be fair, Hearthstone Mage control decks are filled with single-target removal and board clears (basically Black colour identity with a little Red and White) while Blue is more about bounce (Vanish, Sap) and counterspelling (which actually fits tempo mage more). Day9's deck is more like Death and Taxes, a monowhite deck, than it is a Blue mill or control deck.

Control in general and Blue in MTG are two very different things. Blue is not control, blue is actually cancer, because it has to be to combat the insane cards of MTG.

Day9 is a fan of Black control in MtG. Blue just has all the values he despises wrapped into a single colour. X3

Your home all day. You should just boil your own beans. Grab a bag of black beans. Throw a half a cup in about 4 cups boiling water, in a hour maybe two you’ll have beans, no problem. Skip the soaking. It’s a silly step.

why not questions can be more like suggestive statements though then questions or genuine curious questions "hungry, why not head over to the fridge and grab a bite" its not asking you for reasons not to, its more just saying "go grab a bite to eat" but in a more sort of suggestive way and less outright telling you and to use a hearthstone example "why dont you run card X in that deck" in text it always "sounds" the same, but it can easily be a genuin question, "why arent you running that card" it might genuinly be they dont know why you dont have the card in the deck and want to know the reason "why not run ultimate infestation in mechathundruid" cos its a pretty expensive card that takes a full turn to get rid of and is a pain in the ass to get rid of if its low in the deck, and we already have loads of card draw so we dont need it another facet of the "why not" question is not everyone has all the facts for the thing they are talking about "why not" is a way of sort of hedging, its saying "i think this would work but i dont know 100% do you think it would" in a much quicker way "why not move the shelf a little higher, it looks better there" in response "because some of the books to go on it wont fit then"

31:49 lol u can hear day9s frustration as he says "hit him with that well played". He knows the better player didn't win! Day9 was just trying out a new deck and this guy plays a tempo mage in the first days of a new exp. I can totally understand day9s frustration!

@lazycouch16 жыл бұрын
He also runs the both draw 2 cards effect that burns the enemies cards when they have close to a full hand. That is in hearthstone, 'mill'. Hearthstone mill is dumb and loosely context'd so I wouldn't worry about it.

I guess we've reached a point in our culture now where the very nature of asking question is considered a passive-aggressive way of putting a "burden" on someone. We've truly reached peak snowflake. I get his point about not using "why not" when you want to make a suggestion -- just make the suggestion instead. But often people are genuinely curious and that's why in language, we have these things called questions. Perfect example was 2:19:18 when a viewer genuinely wanted to know why he wasn't playing glyph with his spare 2 mana and hero powering instead and he tried to phrase it differently, but in the end it was a straightforward "why not" question. And even Day9 accidentally rephrased it that way, ironically while praising him for not saying "why not". Guess why that happened, because there's no other way to ask that.
