I've been giving Trump a hard time lately due to his bad play, but he got me back with this video. Its foolish of me to think Trump should have these decks mastered week 1... Trump has found a very strong paladin deck. Even Thijs says he's having a hard time making pally work, but Trumps got it down pat.

I thought Blizz's idea of Goons being a kind of "Know when to hold 'em" cards was a bluff, but the flexibility of choosing between value and tempo is surprisingly cool, especially in Paladin.

***** It still wins against pirates due to having a ton of low drops. Pirate is like a 55/45 matchup though, but you usually still win with buffadin.

i feel that if you lack an ideal start you get run over by aggro to easily. also drawing into only one or two buffs early means you have(usually) a bunch of average stat minions. i think it does well in slow matchups because you just generate immense value and crush them. but even other midrange decks are hard to compete with.

Considering the mage-heavy ambience in arena, where they have spells for days in which many will eventually counter you, the deck would need a strong draw engine to keep up. And do note that two of the most reliable cards for such are Epic quality, very hard to find in arena. Which is trully sad.

So I don't have the cards to play this deck, but can someone inform me whether Nerubian Egg could be a pick over the Bruisers? Argent Horserider proved to be a nutty pick because it was a fast card after AoE, which this deck needs, and because with just one buff it can be comboed with Keeper to kill any card after a board clear. Egg is the same, but comes with the additional bonus that if it's buffed with Smuggler's Run or Outfitter then it just completely crushes Pirate Warrior. I presume that's why the Bruisers were added for more Taunts, but the egg has some extra use. Also, I'm bad at the game so to me Trump looks like he's making the right play all of the time. Keep up the good work!

Pirate warrior - i think we should think new ways to improve the game.First we should nerf some mechanics.Taunt: when you play a taunt minion your hero gain taunt.Heal: heros can't be healed.Now we should buff se cards.Patches 1 mana 30/30 charge ignore taunt, when you play a pirate summon this minion.Firy war axe: whenever you attack destroy that annoying things in the board

12Rman21 The thing is, you can't go mid/late game against the Buff and Jade decks. The cards get so OP you gotta use removal on 2 drops and you can't compete for value trading minions. This deck is much more fun to watch but I think it is just as cancerous as face mage/warrior to overall gameplay.

I'd play the first version of your deck, but drop the Keepers and Fight Promoters for Mistresses of Mixtures and Small Time Recruits. You easily beat the Reno decks anyway, so I think it's better to hedge your game against Scum Warrior and other similar SMOrc decks.

6:25 this is a good example of why I feel playing against an aggro deck is fundamentally not enjoyable. you spend the entire game on the defensive, and when the tables finally turn and you're able to start actually enjoying the core strategy and playstyle of your deck, the game is over, because the opponent has ran out of steam. so if you enjoy playing decks that are late-bloomers you rarely get to experience the satisfaction of seeing your strategies take effect.

Paladin seems to be the only class that got enough buff support to work. The problem with Hunter and Warrior is that their hand buffs only affect on minion at a time and are too specific. (Fight promoter may as well be a Paladin card.) Honestly I think Blizzard kinda messed up there.

Idea for a Paladin weapon... a shield with zero attack & 3 or 4 durability... its effect would be your hero takes half the damage, lose one durability when your hero takes damage.

His buff warrior deck was bad because it didn't run the taunt theme. With mostly taunts you can get grimy gadgeteer to live for multiple turns and make your hand able to beat jade golems.

I've been playing with different iterations of this deck since the release and I'm hovering around rank 9-10. I seem to lose to pirate warrior and reno lock every time, and that right there is about 50% of opponents. Pretty frustrating.

What would you think about playing defender of argust in this deck? In my experience this deck looses to face decks unless you got a really good hand for the early game. Vikingr Fmly but it has some spell-like minions peacekeeper etc and charge minions turned out to be effective as direct damage. it is still a hard matchup against aggro though.

Well the argument Trump gives is that you make the deck weaker when you would put in spells since you will get much less value from your buffcards. I think I can agree to that since having these buffed minions help you with getting a huge boardswing anyways.
