In a control match up, an 8/8 usually doesn't matter. In an agro match up, you can't play the 8/8. The only time where an 8/8 would matter would be in an anti-anti- control deck. Where you simply stuff in so many threats the enemy runs out of removal (Or you know, just play agro so the opponent can't use any of his single target removal)

I'm sure they will eventually. Cards like spider tank, pit fighter, bog creeper, or Nefarian are the sort of thing I'd expect to see as updates to the core set. Basically, any card that's the equivalent of the yeti and boulderfist on other mana costs, and maybe a full set of scaling taunts that follow the sen'jin stats. And possibly all of the legendaries that were never viable. [insert year] core set updates are likely coming. The only question is whether Blizzard will make us open new classic packs to get new versions of old cards, or give everyone a basic copy of whichever ones they already have. I know which *I* expect.

It's meant to give them more freedom to make new cards that would have been stupidly OP when paired with older one, and stop the metagame from stagnating without resorting to huge power creep. Adding in the kind of cards that can single-handedly make a deck viable defeats the purpose. The cards that would be added to the core set would have to be ones that don't have allow gamebreaking combos, and aren't so powerful that they should be in any deck (like Boom or shredder). If you have the time, I recommend watching the video "Perfect Imbalance" by Extra Credits. They're mostly talking about games like LoL or DotA, but the same ideas apply. To avoid a stagnant meta in an online CCG you need to either have a group of cards that you keep tinkering with the balance of like they do in MoBAs and rarely release new cards, or you can do what traditional CCGs like Magic do, and have a Standard format that only include the newest few expansions

I had this awful game against a Shadow Word Horror, Entomb, Mind Control Thought Steal Mind vision, Mind Games based priest the other day. Ran no monsters in the deck on his own. Was able to find vision or thought steal all of the high end from this deck including Rag Harrison etc. Entombed Sylv and Tirion and Mind Visioned a second Rag and Mind Visioned my N'Zoth. Unfortunately I had Eadric in the deck and so he got that too and used it to Shadow Word Horror when In N''Zothed. Lost so bad but my god the luck with the pulls he got was incredible.

at 9:22 I would have played Cairne Bloodhoof then allowed the doomsayer to go off. You dodge getting your deathrattle entombed, get a 4/5 on board vs a priest, and it will return with N'Zoth later. Edit: Okay, immediately after I commented, he realized he could have played a deathrattle into it. That's good.

The thing is. Out of all these deathrattle cards you're the MOST okay with giving away Cairne. If he had played that into him, that means he would've had to give up one of the other good cards later on. It COULD have been a good play, yeah, but I think all in all you needed all of them for the fatigue game.
