Jens, I love the addition of the "deck changes" and reasoning. It gives a nice little look into Trump's inner thinking, which is lacking on KZbin (just the nature of not letting things be so free forming as a stream, give and take of clean editing) as well as making it a lot easier to see any changes and direction the decks are going.

Matt Webber We had proper Aggro decks in Karazhan, they were Zoo and Hunter. And they were both a very different experience than turn 1 better than Muster for Battle into high attack weapons into your face into you're dead.

Garrett Seno I'd argue that Zoo is a deck that fights for overwhelming board control before it pushes for face and Hunter was midrange, Face Hunter has been pretty much buried for quite a while now. The 'better than muster' thing I agree with, it's what I mean when I say some things the deck can do are overstepping the mark

Drop fire and lotus agents. The best way to play jade shaman is jade your board full and bloodlust. Fire is too slow and lotus is too inconsistent.

Even with perfect draws/openers most anti aggro decks still don't have an above 50% winrate vs pirate warrior. Think about it: A deck that is supposed to hard counter aggro still loses to aggro 50% of the time. Aggro needs to die! We need 1 mana aoe spells!

Every single expansion there's one aggro deck that just takes over everything. Honestly, though, even with pirate warrior, I think this is one of the more balanced expansions. I think it opened the door for a few new archetypes.

This video is a shinning example of why Pirate Warrior is beyond ridiculous. Even if you draw the best possible anti-aggro hand, thy can not only deal with it, but then kill you on turn 5. Even IF they're unfortunate enough to open with Patches, they can still just run you down with Buccaneer, charge creatures and taunt cards that get insane discounts.

Trump, seriously consider running potion of healing. It's basically a reno heal on turn 4 since you often reno around 15 Hp anyway. The downside is you don't get a body with it, but it's irrelevant anyway since all your opponent cares about is hitting your face. I thought it was a bad card to begin with, but randomly getting 2 golden copies of it in packs persuaded me to try it.

In that last game, i believe on turn 5 you shouldnt have played azure, instead play twilight guardian since you dont have to worry about card draw vs pirate warrior for the most part. this is also fine since you already have a 6 drop (the book worm on one of his 3 attack minions) for the next turn. that play wouldve saved you some health overall due to the taunt, usually against agro decks, you just want to play for tempo. i think that last game was winnable.

Most of the time, _if_ you get to the point where you could actually spend your whole turn healing for 4 mana, you'd already be winning. Other times, I think it's just too slow. Like their 5 turn wins. Spending your whole turn only healing and not dealing with their board they'd easily chip that back off. *Edit:* I am trying out _one_ Potion of Madness atm. Just to up my chance against them in the early game. Grabbing Southsea Deckhand, running it into Small-Time Buccaneer ideally.

Neeken The warrior often spends 5 mana swinging arcanite reaper to face dealing 10 damage (or more with upgrade and such) healing for 12 for 4 mana basically negates most of that for 1 less mana... Yes you need to deal with the minions but if you don't have any healing after that you might just get punched to death by big weapons (weapon removal also helps of course though they always get in at least 1 hit)

The meta hasn't settled yet. People are still trying out combos and new cards. It tends to take awhile for things to level out. Like Aggro Shaman when it first came out last time, though it hung around it was pushed mostly out of the meta in favor of midrange Shaman which was better. That I could deal with. Only reason people are playing Aggro pirate warrior is because of how easy it is to play and how cheap it is to play, as what happens with ALL new expansions. From Hunter, to Shaman and now Warrior, as people get more cards, can make more decks, and people find new combos, Pirate warrior will start to fade as do most aggro decks... if it doesn't, Blizzard will lower the nerf hammer on it as they have with ALL Aggro decks that didn't settle out.

My dragon priest is 50% at least v pirate warrior i think, the rest is way high. Pretty sure Dragon Priest is a way to rank up, since i got rank 10 in like 5 hours, only trouble was pirate warrior, who i still won more than i lost. The high value cards + 4 taunts do beat pirate warrior, but gotta draw em taunts else RIP.

It's just stupid when you even curve nearly perfectly with multiple taunts backed up by PW and hero power heals and they still mow you down in 5-6 turns. That's why I feel madness potions are needed to stand a chance. That last game he had so many outs with spells and charges regardless of your taunts.

Amaz has been playing priest regardless through the seasons and has had a lot of fun with it. But yeah dragon priest is actually a fairly reliable anti-aggro deck right now. Not that it matters a whole lot against pirate warrior, as you can see in this video.

there seems to be a misconception that taunt is good against pirate warrior. it's NOT. AoE and freeze is the way to go, they have to loose their minions, because the only problems they have is draw and tempo loss. one taunt= pretty much one weapon charge

Michael Brown I'm a casual player too. I.just find the jade cards really supplement my totem shaman quite well. I run blood lust as a finisher so the jade golems are good for board control and damage.

You just need to know the strengths of the deck you're playing and the weaknesses of the decks you're playing against. If you're running a midrange deck and run into a jade druid, hit the face as hard as you can. You need to win before it gets to the late game. Don't worry too much about favourable trades - by the time they get a stranglehold on the board you'll have your aoe plus some smaller minions to start over.

Ahmed Dan Reno Jackson is a League of Explorers adventure card. It heals you to full hp when you don't have any double cards in your deck(deck, not including hand). Reno lock is a Warlock deck that uses this card, putting only 1 card each. Tempo, you might just want to google it: 'hearthstone what is tempo'. Basically it's the flow of the game. As somebody else said it, HS is like tug of war. You and the opponent is fighting to take control. It's more than just board presence. Minions on board do help, but not always necessary if you have removals and could take control.

This didn't confirm anything. Trump is playing a crumby deck and doesn't even run the new Priest cards that would've saved him. Greater Healing Potion and Potion of Madness were designed to combat these hyper-aggressive decks.

Greater Healing Potion is a no for me, too slow and you'll lose tempo. I've used Potion of Madness against Pirate Warrior and it works great. In my experience, Potion of Madness is a bad draw against any other decks that people play most right now.

M. Arbah Binamin I disagree. Losing tempo with GHP isn't usually an issue because the pirate deck starts to lose steam around there anyway. By that point your minions would've cleaned up theirs and they're just smashing you in the face with Arcanite Reaper. If they're not playing any more threats then it doesn't matter if you lose tempo - especially since you'll always win the late game. Regarding Potion of Madness, yeah I agree it definitely loses value with other match ups. But you still see Loot Hoarder's kicking around which are great to steal.
