I just V-07-TR-0N'ned someone in arena. That poor mage, never saw that shit coming. My legendary pick was in the middle of the draft, between Lorewalker Cho, Nozdormu, and Mimiron's Head. Just thought the head would end up being an expensive yeti, I didn't draft all that many mechs, but you know...that one time made it all worth it. Dropped down the head, a Shadowboxer, and a Mechwarper after the mage Flamestriked.

I had the opposite. I had picked up Sneed's Old Shredder as my second card in the deck, and every time I would play it, it would ALWAYS get silenced. Even after baiting out two or three silences, it always happened. I just wanted to try out a new card, dammit!

I got two of each recombobulators and ironbarks. Only got to use the combo twice, but I got KT and the Foe reaper 4000. Got KT while doing bm and Foe Reaper when I was winning very hard. Sadly the run went only 5 wins even though it was amazing, perfect curve on all the lost games too. 3 druids of the claw, 2 ironbarks, 1 ancient of war, 4 yetis and enough early game to get a great curve almost every game.

I think out of all the GvG cards, floating watcher is the one that Trump underestimates the most. Playing it on 7 doesn't just make it a 7 mana 6/6, it's essentaily a 7 mana 6/6 + draw a card with potential for ridiculousness. That's pretty fantastic.

Okay, so there's a lot of people crying out that suddenly Trump sucks at Hearthstone since he started doing the GvG arenas. I haven't watched all the videos, but I'd like to point out a couple of reasons why his winrate seems to have fallen. 1) Variance. We've all had runs where we drafted insane decks and only managed 3-4 wins with them. We've all had runs where double Goldshire Footman was legitimately our best option, and somehow gone 9 with them. He's put out, what, five runs or so since GvG came out? That's not nearly a sufficient sample size to declare that suddenly Trump has forgotten how to cards. Some would argue that the increased RNG would also contribute to equalizing the disparity between players of different quality, but I believe a superior player like Trump can still shape the RNG in favourable directions (making educated decisions on when to play Madder Bomber, when to recombobulate, etc.) 2) Prediction. If you watch Trump's videos, he's not just playing the cards that look good at the moment. He's thinking ahead a couple of turns, not only at his own plays but also at what he anticipates his opponent may do. With a bunch of new cards, those predictive mechanisms aren't as strong right now, because there's a slew of essentially unknown variables. Yes, he's aware of the new cards, and has spent time thinking about them, but they haven't been fully internalized yet. When you're on turn five against a Mage, you shy away from playing four-health minions even then, because in a couple of turns Skillstrike is going to land. You don't need to think about this, you just know it. It's going to take a while before Trump is intuitively playing around GvG cards, and during that time, his skill advantage is going to become less pronounced. He hasn't suddenly become stupid. It's just that due to his profession, his learning curve is on display for the world.

To me it seems like floating watcher is basically a 7 mana 6/6 draw a card, which is comparable to azure drake, and therefore good. It can be worse if you're forced to play it earlier and not tap, but it's still not awful in that situation and it will be a priority target in most cases so it's kinda like a 5 mana 4/4 taunt. Which is not great but it's not terrible. And of course you get the ideal situation where it's a 9 mana 8/8 draw 2 cards - essentially a bigger, better Ancient of Lore with the slight drawback of losing 4 hp. Overall I think it's a decent card. Whether it'll work out that well in practice is another thing entirely.

I think the Watcher is ok for arena, good but not great. You need to have the mana to activate it, and if you're using your hero power, you can't do it before turn 7, which is very slow. You could play the Watcher without immediately buffing it if you're playing it on an empty board, but that's also hard to setup. On the other hand, once it sticks on the board, its incredibly strong and can easily get out of control. This makes up for your troubles.

I've found it to be insane in arena. It's essentially gains +2/+2 every turn it stays on the board while you gain cards and have more mana to use. It's definitely a kill on sight card. 2 of these on one board is almost unstoppable too.

Seeing that fourth game is making me think killing off Priest minions is going to be extra important in GvG. On top of denying healing, now there's Velen's Chosen which seems to be a strong enough buff that you don't want to let the Priest use it.

I personally think that Velen's Chosen is actually stronger than Kings. This might just be the insane synergy with the hero power, but I won almost all games where my Chosen two drop killed my opponents two drop because of the tempo loss they suffered from this.

7BiT Studios When I first saw it I was thinking that already. Mostly because my experience of using Blessing of Kings was that I wanted to use it to let me kill something without losing my minion, but it usually involved ridiculous overkill; say, buffing an already hurt yeti so I can kill another yeti and still have something, but then I'm hitting a 5 health minion for 8. With Velen's Chosen you can make similar trades but for one less mana. Essentially, while buffing up attack values to trade up is nice, buffing up health and keeping stuff alive is nicer, especially for Priest.

I have to agree: Velen's Chosen is so much stronger than I imaged. I've flat out lost games to turn three Chosen on a 3/2. A 5/6 on 3 is almost impossible to come back from without some strong answers, especially because Priest can heal.

Ever since the release of the new cards in arena, my arena run been getting a lot shittier from like 6-8 wins (just guessing most likely less) to around like constantly getting 4 with an occasional 5. Yes, more random elements. More randomness means that average win rates for all players will move closer to 50:50, making 12 win runs less likely. Of course, people are simply trying out the new cards and figuring out what works best, so I expect Trump's win rate to go up again over the next couple of days.

I had a Warlock deck where I drafted 5 Floating Watchers. They're not amazing, most of the time just being 7 mana 6/6, but it sort of forced the enemy to deal with them immediately, and I won on multiple occasions where the enemy could have just straight rushed me down, but ended up trading to get rid of the potential threat of them just getting bigger. Lost on 10 because good lord, some of those other guys decks were insane. 2 Ragnaros in a row on turn 8 and 9. What the hell...

Having played through a couple of runs with Warlock, I could actually see Demonlock working out this set. The primary problem previously was the lack of a truly unfair mechanic. Sure, Voidcaller is amazing, but it gets silenced often in constructed. With the addition of Watcher and Mal'ganis, it has a lot of potential. I'm looking forward to trying it out after the set's released.

After watching all recent uploads with the GvG cards. It seems really cool atm, hard to predict, everything can happen. Crazy possible moves. I like it, very enjoyable right now in the Arena so far.

I had drafted a Priest deck before the free GvG arena runs. Everyone was drafting the new cards with their massive RNG and variance, that my solid and dependable deck could just slow and steady everything. 12-2 win. Recently started a Mage run, and having tons of fun using the Snowchugger to basically shutdown Rogues and Druids, and annoy Warriors and Pallies. Also I realized that Explosive Sheep is basically a 3 mana Consecration if you don't have any minions of your own, or a mini-Hellfire. Incredibly useful clear that a lot people don't seem coming, and Mage is the only one that can reliable the Sheep as well. So my deck is basically a Freeze-Mech-Mage deck now, quite interesting. Also I'm wondering if you save the packs you win, and only open them after the expansion officially hits, will the contents change?

Congrats on your 12 win run. 1st, is explosive sheep 3 mana consecrate? I thought sheep + hero ability is 4. and you might as well open those packs now, they won't give you GvG cards.

You are right, for some reason I kept thinking Explosive Sheep was 1 mana. It's basically a Consecrate/Hellfire spell in that case. I still think has potential in FreezeMage just to easily wipe many mini aggro cards. And yeah I found out about the packs thing. I'm pausing my Mage run till after the expac drops, but I don't know if the pack you get is determined by when you started the run.

I've noticed that many players in arena seem to be more aggressive these days. As with Trump's recent gvg arenas it seems to be that when you fail to have turn 2, 3 plays you end up losing so much life because these players often favor hitting face. Maybe it has to do with the influx if noobs in arena? This makes me wonder, is going aggro a strictly better strategy than going for value control?

I just wanna say that unstable portal in arena is SICK. Out of five times using it, three of them were Hemet Nesingwary, Alexstrasza, and Prophet Velen (then the last time I used it was Voodoo Doctor, but let's just forget about that). Turn 6 Alex to the face on an empty board = gg

My opponent once got an Anima Golem with Unstable Portal. I could never trigger its suicide effect because the guy drafted like 2-3 mech target dummies and 1 mirror image (which he combined with Duplicate). All that and a bunch of removal spells = most frustrating loss ever. Also, if you play the hunter class challenge in Naxx now, you're bound to get Gahz'rilla atleast once per game. I think they've cranked up the chances to get legendaries/epics with random effects for this small period of time.

Oh, Enhance-o Mechano isn't _that_ bad. Even hitting just two minions with it you have over a 50% chance of getting what you need. Maybe even 100% if the situation is such that any of the buffs are good. It requires more specific situations than Argus to be good, but i think it's fairly priced. Giving another minion taunt is priced at 0 mana for neutral minions (Sunfury and Argus). Giving a minion divine shield is priced at 0.5 mana for a class card. Giving a minion windfury is priced at 1.5 for a class card. That's an average of 2/3 a mana per minion the Mechano hits, but two of the comparisons are class cards and this is neutral, so maybe it's more like 1 mana? If you hit 3 minions it's oftentime value either way. Now, i know Trump doesn't value windfury that much (even though it can provide great trades), and it's a crappy card to topdeck etc. I still think it's at least decent. Yes, hitting 5 minions with it is pretty much a win more-scenario, but hitting 3 can give you an advantage you wouldn't have had otherwise. A bigger advantage than playing another solid 4-drop like Yeti? For sure it can happen. Does it happen often enough? No idea. I will definitely experiment more with it in arena though.

Think of Enhance-o Mechano as a sort of Bloodlust. It gives a buff to all your minions, meaning you need a board with preferably 3 or more creatures. Its hard to compare value-wise to Bloodlust, but its purpose is similar - you capitalize on having a strong board presence. Unlike Bloodlust tho, Enhance-o gives buffs that are more useful to bigger minions, and help you maintain board control instead of just dealing damage. Its weakness is that its very situational (you need at least 2 minions out), and the buffs very random. Overall it seems like a solid card in arena, since arena is all about minions and having a strong board control, tho it might be too early to tell for sure.

I played a match where on turn 7 a warlock had 1 minion on board and he just dropped 2 flame imps and a enhance-o and got 3 divine shields. H4mmerfall If you count a 3/2 as roughly 2 Mana of value and each buff it gives as 1 Mana of value, getting it with two buffs is average 4 Mana value. Seems like a perfectly fine card to me. I would rate Bloodlust much lower since you can count +3 Attack for one turn on one minion as about 1 Mana value, so you need to hit 5 minions for it to be effective. You'll probably be happy with lower value since it is so card efficient as well, but if you compare the worse or worst-case scenarios, Bloodlust just seems terrible.

After seeing it in use, I think it's playable just for the chance of getting divine shields. I'll add the caveat that your deck MUST be aggressive to get the tempo to make use of it, it's absolutely terrible in a slower deck.

I freaking LOVE Micro Machine. Played an Arena yesterday, only went 7 wins 'cause bad luck on draws on each loss (what else is new lol...) but oh man, that little guy is potentially far, far worse than Undertaker if he goes unanswered. I played 3 diff shaman in a row where I coined the little bugger out (I was Rogue btw) and every time he got up to like 8+ attack before dying - that's a lot of damage to the face :D

I don't understand how Target Dummy is supposed to work. I see it has a bullseye so that's what gives it Taunt, but why is there a clearly visible stack of lit dynamite under it? Wow, Trump is way too greedy. His old style of trying to get value out of all his cards just doesn't work well anymore. You picked Warlock, so unless you have Mortal Coil, you need to just accept trading your 3/2 minion into the 2/1. You can't lose tempo or you just lose, especially as a Warlock. I think it's hilarious that he's doing so poorly in all these youtube videos. A lot of the time, he's just being too greedy, and he's getting punished for it. Also, One of the games he had an awesome starting hand: Razorfen Hunter, Voidcaller, Dread Infernal, and he mulled away all the cards. I can understand wanting to get a 2 drop, but the combo is way strong, and Razofen is a three drop. He also mulled away Razorfen against a Rogue, saying the boar just dies to the dagger, but that's fantastic if the Rogue is spending 2 mana on turn 3 to dagger up and kill a 1/1. I'd call that a win on the Boar's part.

Merlinose 7 mana 6/6 and it turns your hero power into a 2 mana +2/+2, draw a card while taking 2 damage. :D Went 12-1 with a warlock deck that had 4 watchers, they won me at least half the games alone.

Game 3 - did Trump even realise he had Reversing Switch? Missed 3 damage via it after the Enhanco (by putting it on the Voidcaller, 2 extra damage from Windfury that turn, then 1 extra damage from the weapon swing, putting his opponent on 1 with even less chance of winning).

Recombobulator, if thats how u spell it lol, is one of the coolest new cards, and i think one of the best. I had a game earlier, would have lost, but since i got lucky and changed my card into a Leeroy, well lets just say other guy was mad when i won that turn lol

It is OP due to scarcity of early game removal. Slam the card on cleric pumping to 5 hp and keep trading off minions plus hero power.. 5th turn 3 damage AOE is pretty sick too..

Heya, I was thinking, yes, a Hearthstone noob trying to think of something, no clue if this could work or not or if it is even remotely useful, but here's my thought (haven't watched the whole video yet): If you had 10 Mana and dropped Floating Watcher and Madder Bomber, wouldn't the Madder Bomber hits count as a Hit each on your turn as each hit is dealt independently ? Which could basically improve your watcher by +12/+12 if you were >THAT< lucky to get hit 6 times. Of course, come to think of it, it's a 10 Mana play, being late in the game the extra damage might kill you when the combo becomes ready, as it would rely on the enemy not having anything on the board, resulting in a 1/3 chance to hit yourself... And of course, it needed to work to begin with, just a thought on my side, I'd like to hear what you guys think as you probably all have more knowledge or insight on that than I'll ever do. ~Pr0man

Floating Watcher needs to be a 4 mana 4-4, with the same ability. this allows you to play it as a bog standard 4-4 or wait till turn six and pay 2 health to make it a 6-6. At 5 mana cost I wasn't able to play it effectively during my run :/

In the game where Trump was (1-0) on the 5th mana turn, I would estimate about a 10.3% chance of Trump killing his own minion with the Madder Bomber if he played it.

i really love the watcher since every time you tap he gets buffed. so if he survives the summoning sickness he can take out some big guys. its not perfect but in certain aspects its great. had a void caller a succubus thingy (the one that heals you) out and some other minions and the other guy killed all my minions including my voidcaller for last expect my succubus and the voidcaller summoned my watcher. so he was ready when it was my turn. so i tapped summoned 2 flame imps so he got 3 buffs and attacked. kinda effective also great if he is protected behind a taunt guy

Floating watcher is a game winner should it be left alone even for a turn. Warlock is super awesome now. Went 5-3 with a crap deck. Got a golden Rag. Screamed like a little girl. It was somehow satisfying.
