This video just shows how hard it is to estimate how good a card will be in the meta without seeing it on ladder. Kibler rated spreading plague not a top tier card and has some of the best knowledge of ccg's in the industry. Similarly with UI he says he would potentially run Yogg Saron and possibly one copy of UI.

Toxic arrow is a bizarre card. If it dealt 1 damage it could be used on a wild pyromancer and clear the board. If it didn't need the minion to survive it could be used on an exploding bloatbat and clear the board. As it is, it's both ways of useless.

Here's my take on Deathstalker Rexxar...Hunter doesn't really have AOE in the traditional sense. Unleash the Hounds was their "AOE" from the original set. With this set, we get Deathstalker Rexxar and Bloatbat. Is it enough to push Hunter in a new direction for a few decks that aren't Face Hunter? Well - 2-damage to all tends to not be quite enough in most cases, but I think it will definitely be enough for people to try some new stuff. We shall see how the meta adjusts.

I think folks are really underestimating Fate Spinner's ability to play mind games with their opponents. The combination of effects is actually really neat if you play with some forethought. Scenario 1 - Turn 5: Your opponent has a board, you do not. You play fate spinner(buff) and pass. Your opponent expects Fate Spinner to clear their board, so they do not trade into it and instead hit your face. On your turn, you bust out a crew of minions or play the spreading scarabs card and then trade off Fate Spinner. Scenario 2 - Turn 5: Your opponent lacks a board, you have one. You play Fate Spinner(damage) and clear their board/hit face with your minions and pass. Your opponent will kill off your other minions before targeting fate spinner, or clear your whole board at once. In doing so, when your Fate Spinner dies you will return some of the damage onto their board or you will be able to trade it off/hit face. Now you are going to say "What if your opponent guesses that you are messing with them?" That is why you have the choice to play those scenerios normally too, if they trade into your fate spinner and you did not subvert their expectations they are going to be in big trouble. Anyway, just mentioning that it allows for some serious mind games.

36:00 - it's not a probable use case but you can play it on enemy minions that do damage to allys. There is a new Warrior card that does that. In Case you dont remember : the new warrior card im talking about is animated berserker: 1-mana 1-3 minion who damages any friendly minion that is played. You manage to give that guy poisonous and have nothing on the field for it to trade into your opponent can basically not play minions until you do. Another use would be to cast it on fatespinner - if you feel lucky. Here are some cards you can use it on even though it's probably not that great : Maybe you want to hit a powerword shielded pyromancer. Play it on ticking abomination should your opponent be dumb enough to put it in their deck (maybe in arena). Cast it on your own lowcost minion after you used deathspeaker, which makes the minion immune for the turn. Use it on Barron Geddon or abomination (the standard one with 4/4 taunt). Technically hunter is handbuff class so you could put it on a buffed sergeant sally. If you can put it on a buffed knive juggler its potentially good. Same goes for Tentacle of N'zoth or a buffed bloat bat. If you get betrayal from lotus agent, you can actually use it on an enemy to clear stuff. Cast it on knuckles to go face while you control. You can combine it with bestial wraith on any beast to kill any minion you want for the low low price of 3 cards.

22:59 - Important to note regarding Deathstalker Rexxar that you cannot create a poisonous stealth minion. According to the Devs (Mike Donais, Peter Whalen, Matthew Place) the cards will be chosen from two different pools: The first will always be a beast with card text and the second with either a keyword or no text. This means that battlecry minions will be in the first pool of cards - and as such both stealth and poisonous minions will be in the second as both are keywords, not text. (In this instance, keyword = one word / text = more than one word). As the power merges the two chosen cards' stats and abilities, the mana cost is therefore merged - meaning no beasts that costs 6 or more mana will be available. I don't know whether you can choose only from collectible beasts or if non-collectible beasts (such as Misha, Huffer, Leok etc.) will also be available. 11:42 translation - very lazy design. They forced taunt warrior down our throats and once it finally stuck, they are doing the same thing with Druid now. I hate banging my head against the Warrior wall, I really don't want to do that vs. Druid too. Some concerns: 1. All these deathrattles might bring about a stale meta with too many N'Zoth decks 2. Again we see cool high-cost spells/minions kinda steering the meta to a slower, control dominated state, but if we learn from history it doesn't really work. The cool big stuff is mostly useless and aggro is prevalent no matter what. 3. Freeze effects freeze interactivity 4. On first glance many Quests could remain dormant with mechanic having a low overall success rate

Deathstalker Rexxar is so good. It plays exactly to the tempo game. Turn 6 is generally when you start to fall behind in Hunter. This allows you to make a huge Tempo push on Turn 6 and trade very favorably, or simply slam the big kitty. This card is the return of Rexxar.

Brian, I think that the big point of Frozen Clone is that it forces your opponent to bet on which you're playing--mirror or clone. As you were saying, if they play into mirror and you have clone, you'll likely get two low cost cards. So often, the cards that do get thrown into mirrors are actually decent when you're able to play them when you want--on particular mention are cards like Novice Engineer that have a battlecry that you lose out on with mirror. Clone gives you that value. On the other hand, if they try to play around clone and give you something clunky and big, and you have mirror, then you get a free big minion. Perhaps there's even a deck where you can play both and really keep your opponent guessing. I think that this card is a direct response to the extent to which mirror is easy to play around in constructed.

As a secret mage main, I think that frozen throne will be played in the deck. The deck isn't actually that aggressive so most of the time it runs out of steam. With frozen clone, you can continue to tempo out without using resources depending on the target.

For Toxic arrow I view it as very versatile card! U can either use it early as basicly 2 mana deal 2 damage if you badly need removal, or later to poison your own minion to trade into something bigger.

I think that toxic arrow is quite powerful with bloatbat, as the mechanics changed and this means you can clear off the board for 6 mana. This improves the value kind of play style you mentioned. Also in combination with deathrattle this means when you are in a weak spot, you can clear the board and end up with some creatures on the board that your enemy has to deal with. Just a thought.... hopefully hunter is really having some kind of comeback with this edition :)

I think a lot of people underestimate fatespinner because they focus too much on the uselessness of the "secret" part, and don't account for just how strong the effects are. This reminds me of what happened with Stromkirk Noble where people got too hung up on the "can't be blocked by humans" part being useless and didn't notice how strong the rest of the card was.

guardianeifie I think the deathrattle triggers after the minion gets into "the graveyard", so the 2 damage AoE doesn't have the poisonous effect, like when you give poisonous to a fiery bat, if it dies the 1 damage ping doesn't have the effect.

The only use I can see for Frozen Clone is dropping it early game with a Cabal Lackey. Many Decks tend to play early value battlecry minions and grabbing 2 is cool. Be it a N'Zoths 1st Mate , a Babbling Book, Jeweled Macaw. Even things like Firefly& Alleycat can become decent curvefillers along the way.

I'd just like to point out that *poisonous* DOES affect *deathrattle* damage so hitting something like Unstable Ghoul with Toxic Arrow WILL clear the board. Just food for thought since there isn't really a cheap Unstable Ghoul alternative for Standard but the combo is doable in Wild for what it's worth. I'd like to see a card in the future that gives a card in your hand *poisonous* which would be enormously more powerful than *deathrattle* because of the number of direct damage and AOE *battlecries.* Also, Frozen Clone seems like the Mage equivalent of Priest's Thoughtsteal. More food for thought(steal).

Ultimate Infestation: 5/5 is about what you expect for an average 5 drop [There's a lot of bad statted 5 drops with effects; and Pit Fighter; 5 mana vanillia; is 5/6]. 5 damage. So that's Firelands Portal. That's worth 7 mana. 5 Armor 1 card is Shield Block. That's 3 mana So you're basically getting 4 cards; aka; Sprint; a 7 mana card; for free. Ultimate Infestation is worth 17 mana of value.

i think toxic arrow has potential, clear early minions, allow you to push past a taunt for leathal, can also be a niche way to suicide your deathrattle guys, be nice if it was 1 damage for use with pyro like equality, i think that would make it from a 'could have some interesting uses' to a solid card in a hunter control build. although i assume this interaction is the reason for the if it survives clause

5:12 ...Seems like you want to Naturalize your Hadronox immediately on the turn that you play it, otherwise you're just begging to get silenced/polymorphed/hexed/mind controlled, etc. So it's a 10-mana, 2-card combo that refills your board in 1 turn with (presumably pretty big) taunts in exchange for giving your opponent two cards.

Brian missed something very key about spreading plague and all the similar cards in this expansion (but namely that one). Cards that cast themselves multiple times are extremely powerful, especially in druid and rogue. You could have a 2 mana druid spell that said "do nothing, cast this card 5 times" and it would be used in conjunction with yogg and gadgetzan auctioneer. This card doesn't just do nothing, it summons a fairly durable wall of minions while also getting those multiple spell casts. Though it is too expensive to use with gadgetzan on turn 6 and it leads poorly into an underwhelming turn 7 with the druid deathknight, i don't think that actually matters. What's important here is how versatile it is especially with how bland it seems. It can be used against a big board for the spell procs, it can be used to stabilize against aggressive decks and it can actually just be used to lead into your deathknight turn where you can clean up larger minions with your new hero power. Sure it's a little off curve, but it's definitely going to be effective in that deck. Just such a versatile card for tons of different matchups, definitely going to see it if there's a control druid running around.

my favourite thing about this expansion is the variety of decks you can build an have fun with and with this im not saying that those decks will all be good and actually playable Im really looking forward to this expansion and before toxic arrow give the minion immunity give it poisonous and kill a big minion for free #masterplan Kappa

Ultimate Infestation has enough effects that it could be a flexible play. If you're playing ramp Druid and you've already drawn this card, then obviously there's no question that Nourish is going to ramp rather than draw, even on 7 or 8 mana, to empty your hand and play it sooner. The effect is insane, but not so much in late game. I would never justify playing 2 copies in my deck though, as more than likely you'd be discarding draws and decking yourself out a bit too quickly. Play it on the turn after Hadronox, etc, that way you're at least healing a bit of the inevitable health loss from Hadronox being a slow and weak play that your opponent wants to avoid killing. Hell you could even do the 5 damage straight to Hadronox to assist in guarantee killing him a turn after once you trade on opponent.

My guess with toxic arrow would be something like: They want you to play Deathrattles obviously. (you already could get a kind of flamestrike with bloated bat and the play dead card) If you play those, you basically WANT them to die to use the effect and later ressurect them with N'zoth or the abomination hunter thingy. So what you might want to do is use it on a deathrattle that has more than 2 health, and then run it into a big minion to kill the minion and get the deathrattle effect... But if thats even worth it, or if the deck would even be playable is another question.

I feel that Death Rexar is alot like Pyros. Will not be used in control, but gives agro/midrange more gas.

Flame Fusion control decks have better things to do with their mana than big text less dudes. But secret mage happily includes it due to the problem of running out of steam. Most of the time out of the hero you just get these big dudes with good text, but control Hunter would run N'zoth and stuff such as that thus eliminating the out of steam problem.

Toxic arrow: symmetrical removal and deathrattle enabling. Knock your guy down to die in a trade and kill a guy. Or knock their guys health down so you can kill it and get your deathrattle value. Good value the turn before you nzoth or something similar.

I was disappointed that Hunter didn't get a better life-steal beast for a high occurrence bonus on the Build-a-Beast Hunter power. That alone would have gone a long way to making control hunter a thing. The only one they have access to is the Neutral 5 cost 4/4 Bloodworm. Its something, but not enough. I felt like they missed an opportunity here.

Gibz lich king is only really going to be good in decks that don't already have a death knight card. If you build around frost lich Jania you wouldn't want to suddenly go get build a beast

@Skullhawk13 first: all classes have deathknights. second:the lich king doesnt add Hero DKs to your hand...he works like Ysera and gives you non collectible cards

is every one missing ultimate infestation in quest druid. Draw was the biggest thing it was missing that and in later turns you don't use your mana since everything is free. This fixes both those things, a place to put your mana and two additional crazy swing turns.

Toxic Arrow seems reasonable with a card like Stonehill Defender. Granted, it would need to have not been attacked yet, but it's something...
