Epic that he found lethal anyway with the divine shield though that was insane I thought he had fucked it up

yeah in EU its not enough to get legend but you can do very nice deck to reach legend without that much. You only need Control paladin deck standard but without legendary cards use dirty rats instead. Whenever you board clear use dirty to kill legend from your oponent you can counter most of popular Mage Quest Control and Quest warrior and you will reach legend soon. I tell it to you from my experience
@ragnarosunleashed50737 жыл бұрын
Samash Mora HS is a game heavily based on RNG where you could play a game perfectly and still lose out of nowhere when your opponent played bad all game and got lucky off a random card they discovered etc etc. Which is why I don't understand how there is a competitive scene which such a RNG based game..... And climbing ladder is a joke, not only does it take hundreds of games but a TON OF LUCK! Which is why one of the best players to grace the game (lifecoach) quit because the game rewards massive skill-less grind rather than less games and being skilled. Not everyone is mindless to the point where you just play 50 games a FUCKING DAY, WHICH IS FUCKING INSANE! Where example me can only play about 10 games a day with a high winning ratio and still get burned out...

Those initial conditions were exactly what you needed to do. I watched Trump's first "F2P" videos, and the first thing he did was disenchant almost every card he got (after a MONTH's worth of play, and a fuck ton of Arena runs), and create, of all things... Quest Rogue. How. Boring. Thank you Toast, for showing an F2P player that I will be able to do it, one day. I've climbed to Rank 13/14 this season with MR Hunter, and I hope, with a little refinement, that I'll be able to go higher next season. It's really all about time invested. And how much you can stomach to play the same deck. It boils down to the question wether you want to play HS for 80 hours a month with an aggro deck (control games last 3 times as long, so... well). Especially when you talk about aggro, it's not really about your ability to play the game, although that might cut the time needed by a bit.

yeah i can get anywhere between 10 and 5, but dont have the time nor commitment to grind out 200ish games. plus i like to play ranked for a while, then switch to casual so i can test out different decks (some of which are just garbage for the lols and some of which are very good just not super consistent (right now being my suicide ramp druid with a hemet and my hemet jade druid where the most fun win condition is destroying most of your deck, then filling it with jade druids that you draw each turn with auctioneer and fandril)

This is a much better way than Trump is doing it. Basically excluding arena, because a new f2p person won't be able to do well. This is especially the case in his latest f2p run; it almost immediately turned into "Can quest rogue make it to Legend?" Of course it can, and I don't care to watch that. Trump's Priest f2p run was _really_ good. I got a whole new appreciation for Stranglethron Tiger. We were never upset to see him. Just solid.
@youngcrespo7 жыл бұрын
Technically, all of Trump's F2P runs had the question "can a player get to legend without using money?" And the answer still is "yes", but since the Priest and Rogue runs added "but not if you have a bad deck." Trump's F2P runs were not just a challenge, and actually were 100% about telling people that you can make a legendviable deck without spending a buck, and I'm still unsure why people were so mad at his recent Rogue attempt. I assume it's because it's a popular deck, but so was dragon priest and I do remember the uproar back then.
@WhismurWanders7 жыл бұрын
What made me disinterested in the Rogue run was that Trump made a lot of, IMO, corner-cutting decisions that I think Toast handled much better. The restrictions Toast put on himself more or less covered all the gripes I had with Trump's run, ESPECIALLY the No Arena Runs rule. I think newbies who watch F2P runs benefit most from seeing changes and adjustments on a pack-by-pack basis. "Ooh, I just opened a really good Hunter card, maybe I should look at building a Hunter deck," or "Ok, that's a pretty bad rare, but now I can fill Deck X with some of the missing pieces"

Nice to see a legitimate F2P run that doesn't butcher an account of cards into dust to make a meta deck. lol @ 5:50 realization. Ultimately, the climb is heavily a factor of time x reasonably straightforward deck with a >50% winrate.
@dmarsub7 жыл бұрын
well with a 79% winrate it doesnt really take that long. but only a pro gets such a high winrate with such a deck.
@neilu71327 жыл бұрын
voice of reason only a pro... you just need to know the meta so you can play around the cards you expect your opponent to have. Some decks don't have hard removal (tipically druids, or just ONE mulch) so you can just commit to making a huge minion that they won't ever be able to remove. others lack cheap Aoe so you should just rush face and finish with hero power. Hearthstone is pretty far from a difficult game, principally in standard where there aren't that many cards. Most people just tryhard with the same few decks without a single unexpected card. very predictible
@t3chn0dr0n37 жыл бұрын
What neilu said. HS really isn't a hard game, most of the time it's just about having a solid deck, some luck, meta knowledge, and prediction skills based on the meta. No opponent will ever be hard or surprising for you if you have these things. This is also why it's good to customize your decks and put something like "your favourite odd card" which no one usually plays but which works very well for you in your deck. Think alchemist, ooze, owl etc.

@ziyadkaraYT7 жыл бұрын
1un4cy Well if you want to make the exact same deck immediately upon watching the video, you might need to disenchant some stuff, sure. But you can't deny the deck is cheap. I mean, no epics, no legendaries, two rares to start. Doesn't get much cheaper than that, and this is a deck that reached LEGEND. What more can you realistically ask for?
@1un4cy7 жыл бұрын
only if you get really really lucky matches because anything with beefy legendaries or taunts pretty much shuts it down pretty hard
@TheGreatwhitellama7 жыл бұрын
+1un4cy Legendaries are fancy and they give you good win conditions, but they are at the cost of being clunky. Even though this is a mid ranged deck it's hunter - perhaps one of the most aggro orientated classes. If you face a deck that's too clunky you'll roll right over them and if they have the cards to stop the early game aggression you can fall back to your mid range threats such as Savannah Highmane and Tundra Rhino. All the while they are dealing with your threats you're doing chip damage with your hero power and small minions. They miss on any crucial answers or if they take too much damage from greedy held AOE's they are screwed. That's why mid range hunter is the best deck for whatever you face and to put the icing on the cake it's really cheap... but admittedly not exciting to play.

Hey Toast a fan here. I'm playing this game for 2 years and I feel like I should get legend but I don't have much money so I always get fucked by the meta decks. You gave me a hope with this deck and I hope to climb but what can I do about the quest rogues. Can you do a guide to this deck using your stream vods please?

i know this is an old video already but im glad you did this ! , Me and my brother we both are new players, we have a week playing the game! My brother was kinda depressed that he couldnt get any higher than 20rank so I sent him this video intending to inspire him since we are not able to spend money on games, now hes trying so hard he reached 16 now ! and hes willing to get to 10rank at least ! Not aiming to legend yet because its hard playing with a f2p account while having no experience since we are new to it but oh well , we are gonna get there next season prolly ! Thanks again for the video , !subbed and liked

Thanks for this. The grind of f2p without a constructed deck is miserable, and discouraging for new players. I quit the game last year due to the grind, but have come back with a budget aggro hunter built by RegisKillbin and am enjoying the game more than ever. I'd love to see more budget videos and specific deck strategies to aid others in the climb. Also, saving 1400 gold for the One Night stories is doable for f2p to get Kindly Gmas, I think, working toward it now.

In shadowverse you get like 250 gold each day just for 5-7 wins

That's kinda relative to the pack prices. You could gain a million gold per day, but wouldn't matter if packs cost a million aswell. What does a pack cost in Shadowverse?
@elhuskyplateado77317 жыл бұрын
100 gold each pack

Thanks a lot for this. I started playing hearthstone last season and I maxed at rank 18 with my F2P C'thun decks, then I watched this video and got to rank 14 in 2 hours last night.

I really like what you have done. it does inspire me. Just a little note that IMO, this kind of climbing with F2P deck is good once in a while. Normally I would love to see your ordinary content more than this grinding. However, what you just done is really awesome.

Thanks toast. I am new to hearthstone, and did dust off many cards to build a decent deck. You inspired me to do something with the goals of achieving legend just using card combos and interactions, with effort and understanding of this game. I enjoy your content as a hearthstone gamer and peace and love from malaysia.

This earned a sub, the deck is powerful, but you obviously have superior card knowledge and experience over many people who struggle to reach the top ranks

It just goes to show that while having the best cards definitely helps, there's no replacement for skill and putting the time in. I usually make it to ~10 if I am trying to climb, and it's nobody's fault but my own that I don't go higher. Lack of time to play and just not being as good as Toast. No shame in it, just means I need to improve if I want to climb. Thanks for the demo, Toast! You're the best.

dude,honestly that was awesome, it just shows what good player you are and that most of the time its your skill and thinking that is required rather than the cards itself. Really inspiring and an amazing streamer. Keep going mate, fuck the haters.
