Blaze Taleo Joke :P i was referencing "Purity of the Cards", a hilarious video that if you haven't watched you should. It adds a 5 mana 1/1 card to the game, that reads "If your opponent has 5 silenced minions, and you play purify on this card, win the game" after that card is played, it is cited as "Unicorn Priest". I was simply making a reference to that, hence the quote :P

since the card is from the LOE set, its going to rotate out of standard on the next expansion. So blizzard will ignore, if it was form another set, then it would be gone before turn 2 hero power emote.

Krunschy That IS the current wording. The deck works because of a little under the bonnet fudging of key mechanics. See, in Priest, if you Potion, Shadow Madness or Entomb an enemy minion, the first thing that happens is that that minion becomes a friendly minion. Then the rest of the effect happens. There was a bug/feature a bit back (don't know if it's been patched yet) where playing Entomb with Djinni would also Entomb your Djinni. Same thing with Potion of Madness, just with Charge.

Djinni and Shadow Madness already existed. You'd have to use Emperor to make it work tough. Reduce at least 4 cards in the combo and it does the same ting with 10 mana. Reduce ALL the cards in the combo and you can do it on turn 9. Provided your opponent had a minion with 3 attack or less.

doombybbr Very true. Still existed. The unicorn existed. It has been made more powerful with Gadgetzan. Inner Fire Priest has existed since Classic's release. Gadgetzan has made it more consistent. I'm not a great player and I've managed to reach rank 13 with modified Inner Fire Priest decks. One is a version of Toast's Inner Fire Confuse deck he used to reach Legend. The other is a hybrid of Inner Fire and Dragon Priest. Slight improvements to the deck (that I can't make) could get me to 10. Better skills could get me to 5.

Arvxyx Potion of Madness is working fine, it's the Djinni who's acting weirdly, but it has been like that since the beginning, with Entomb entombing your own Djinni, and Mind Control giving summoning fatigue to it. They never bothered to fix it and it's rotating out pretty soon now, so no risk of seeing them finally changing it.

Potion of madness is fine too, I just think the card text could be changed to explicitly mention the minions gains Charge. Then everything would be perfectly clear.

Yeah I know. That's what they said, They acknowledged the current behaviour as working fine and that they won't change it. It doesn't make it less weird and unexpected. You entomb your own card, you give summoning fatigue to a card that didn't get summoned this turn, and now you can even give it charge. but hey, it's working as Intended. At least this time it's a positive behaviour for the priest playing the Djinni.

Rafael Ando Shadow Madness doesn't say "gives minion charge" and it's been out since the games release.

It's not a Potion of Madness issue. The same sort of interaction happens if you Entomb an opponent. Entomb has two effects. 1. Make the enemy a friendly minion. 2. Put the minion back in your deck. So casting Entomb on an opponent while Djinn is in play causes the Djinn to hop back into your deck as well. Priests have been wanting this interaction fixed for more than a year now to no avail. Potion of Madness (and its more expensive counterpart, Shadow Madness) are the first spells which have are a positive interaction.

Yes, since when you use the spell to gain controll, they basicly gain a 1 turn buff which gives them charge but the minion goes to the enemy side after the turn ends, even if it was friendly to start with

An alternative way to hit lethal on the play at 7:04 is to attack with loot hoarder (2 damage) -> confuse -> potion of madness on Leeroy (2/6) -> Inner fire on Leeroy (6/6) -> attack with the rest of the minions: 3+1+1+3+6=14. Still pretty cool how he thought about the more complicated play with Questing adventurer.

Duckman1616 he streamed after the video and he mentioned then that in those 10 games he played against a lot of Reno decks, which are the favorable match ups (though I guess ice block still auto wins vs this). As he kept streaming, though, he played vs aggro more often. I didn't keep track of win rates but it was clearly unfavorable.

Martial Apologist Agreed, this deck clearly lacks removals and will almost always lose to aggro. Toast mentioned on the stream that when he first tested it he played a lot of Reno decks, hence the high win rate here... But after posting the video he faced many aggro decks and lost often. The idea is good but the deck probably needs to be changed to include some removals...

I think I found an interesting interaction in a priest mirror match. After using potion of madness on the opponent Djinni, followed by another madness on a second minion, I was able to keep the Djinni I stole. Ended up with two Djinnis on the board the next turn after I played one of my own. I didn't get lethal because the other minion I stole only had 0 attack before Confuse. :(

Guys this will not get nerfed. The combo pieces have been used for a long time before the discovered Djinni and Potion of Madness interaction. Cards like inner fire and divine spirit have been tried out forever in priest decks. Also the otk requires combo multiple emperor tics.

My favorite kill combo (playing warlock) is Emperor Thaurissan on a turn, then followed up by Summoning Portal > Brann > any C'Thun buffers (under 3 mana normally, before emperor reduction) > C'Thun. C'Thun gets buffed to 18+ and hits twice for upwards of 36 damage!
