Hands down! I dissenchanted all my other cards to play this deck. It may not be the best in terms of win-rate, but you can get some crazy games with it. Getting 2 1 mana Gul'dan dk's when I have played a ton of demons is amazing :D.

It is even worse in wild if you try to have fun Many mill or odd rogue Paladins are really annoying And i am not even talking about the druids. I guess a lot of people prefer to win by not even using their brains than to have like 50%winrate instead

i'm a casual (and, maybe, mediocre) player, when I play a lot I play 2-3 match a day; with that same deck (except Valeera that i haven't in my collection) I can't win the majority of zoo warlock, tempo mage, token druid. I don't like to complain eh, but for me it's like that; if you are a better player good for you... ^^

I kinda wonder if the shudderwock decks could use some kinda sunfury protector or defender of argus to maybe give the shudderwocks that are being summoned taunt so there's some kinda defense against an already established board when at low health like that

some early shudderwock decks used to run lone champion both as early game anti aggro andto sometimes give the shudderwock taunt/divine shield, but it seems this was dropped.

See all those seem like good ideas to be able to have some defense so I guess either Kibler was able to pressure his opponent before any of those could come online before they had to play shudderwock or his opponent never played them in the first place

I think the reason it was dropped is because against aggro, shudderwock doesn't need the combo to win and against control they rarely need the extra protection. Decks these days though are more focused on board presence so combo can't just do their own thing, so I could definitely see stuff like lone champion making a comeback. Corpse taker is great, but it makes the deck less consistent and by the time you draw shudderwock and all of your pieces, a lot of the buffs would of been drawn already unless you put a lot of support in the deck for it, further reducing shudderwock consistency.

Entirely depends on context. How aggressive or controlling is their deck likely to be? Do you have another turn one play? What do you imagine will be your win condition in this matchup? By this I mean: can you afford to play the long game and eke as much value as possible out of all your cards, or do you have to sacrifice value for tempo and try to overwhelm them before they can get their late-game game plan going? Do you have another spell in hand for which it would be better to save prep? Or even is there a spell in your deck which is so good with prep (e.g. sprint) that you'd be willing to give it a couple of turns to see whether you draw it? Imo basically it's never worth playing prep espionage on turn 1, because it does nothing to impact the board and doesn't draw cards. In the early game you generally want to do one or both of these two things. Espionage is a card which carries you in the late and to some extent in the mid game, so get your early board development/board clears going first, then think about espionage. Of course sometimes you will play turn 1 espionage and turn 2 draw a 1 mana tyrantus, but that doesn't mean that was a good play. It just means you got very lucky with a risky, 0 tempo, 0 immediate value play.

@@joshburns1777 strong answer. The only thing I'd point out is that Rogue has a lot of tempo gain cards (eg Sap), so if you're playing against someone with good class cards (Druid, Mage) you probably should go for it, unless you're facing aggro versions of those respective classes.

Tess ability is a Battlecry, so it would trigger normally, I guess - because especifically Tess has some spaghetti interactions and we cannot know for sure unless we see it.

He said there isnt really enough room for it and I've been doing my own variations of this deck and I agree. The weapon needs a deadly poison to be good enough and if you take something out it would most likely weaken early game because you need the weapon and the deadly poison

I appreciate interesting decks and play from Kibler, but the meta is depressing. 2-3 variations of Druid, odd warrior/rogue, and the occasional shudderwock... yawn. Let’s hope the balance changes change the balance.

Typically I really enjoy your videos (Tess ones, especially), but this match was honestly on the boring side (not to mention some somewhat obvious misplays, but those happen from time to time).

Is it me, or is this deck just not fun? It's like, the tempo aspects, and the academic espionage often clash mega hard. Tess is completely worthless, and it's just an off shoot of miracle rouge. I mean, in the very few cases, academic espionage makes incredibly entertaining games, like using prismatic lenses to get a zero mana Auctioneer, but the rank that I'm at, there is barely any slow decks

Episu NA I’m aware of thqt, I’m no filthy odd paladin player, I love me some fun decks. -I made an all out totem shaman -A rouge deck called “Gilnean Kingdom” Consisting of worgen rush cards like Swift Messenger, and Gilnean Royal Guard, with Tess Greymane, and Genn Greymanne, with Pickpockets to support tess. My personal favorite deck is Big Spell Mage, it’s so fun to whipe out boards, and even though it’s not seen as good, back in K&C I ram Medivh and Spiteful Summoners as value overload. It was SO fun to completly anniahalate call to arms, and only sucked ahainst secret mage. Theif Rouge starts off as a tempo rouge and ends as a tempo rouge. It’s sad that Kibler increasingly cutted theif cards to increase consistency. Faldori Strider is a more fun card than espionage, and I sometimes don’t get the card draw tools when I want them.

Everyone has their own definitions of fun. I like to watch this deck. Would never play it. I hate both watching and facing Big Spell Mage. Personally I enjoy good players trying rng-based decks so I can watch it, and in the game I like to win. Just like that.
