Normally, I'm with Trump on his value plays, and I do think a lot of the stuff he does that's counter-intuitive is the best play. But sometimes he takes it too far, then says something like that, and I can't deny: it's really satisfying to see that Fireball come out.

His obsession with value, like I said, is good most of the time, but also really annoying sometimes, and it's satisfying to occasionally see it bite him in the ass.

+Akirathedon92 Exactly. I don't know if these people haven't watched Trump much before or what, but even though he was exaggerating his normal personality, it still IS his normal personality. It wasn't sarcasm at all: it was hyperbole. He definitely thinks Cursed Blade is good in arena, he wanted to draw it on turn 1, he played it every time he got it. He wasn't joking when he said he was willing to take 12 damage to clear the Shielded Minibot. And his plays worked, most of the time. It's just that first game he took it too far, and got punished. And I laughed. And so did he. So I don't know why these people feel the need to defend him when I'm not even really bashing him and they obviously don't know how he normally plays.

basically the cursed blade is meant to control the early game and out tempo your opponent by making easier trades then following it up with pressure.

+HuzzaH'D Problem is that it becomes a dead card after like turn 3 since most decks will start to curve out by then and you will betaking immense amounts of damage just stick with Firey Win Axe or Deaths Bite.

+Jongseong Lee I don't think so. As has been said before it would become a completely dead card after turn 2 or 3. Making it a 1 mana 3/2 affects arena way more than constructed, people would just stick with fiery war axe in constructed.

I tried 2x Cursed Blade in a constructed deck (Weapon/Pirate Warrior). It literally costed me the game all the time, even in scenarios where I wasn't matched up against heavy aggro. Needless to say that I cut them both and my winrate increased with like 50%. Cursed Blade is just a bad card if it stays the way it is designed right now.

+Christiaan Bruin I also made a constructed 2x Cursed blade deck. When I drew cursed blade on turn 1, my win rate was pretty high. Anything after that... not so much. I think if they added a cycle mechanic to it, it might even be OP.

***** not necessarily, it would steal lead to some horrendous misplays, and it still sucks ass late game. Just imagine pulling out one to get rid of a 6/2 or something. Then next turn you get pyroblasted.

***** No... it's not overpowered... right now the blade is overwhelmingly underpowered and just plain useless in constructed, and barely useful in arena. If you didn't have to take 8 damage for hitting a mid-ranged minion then the blade would see a lot more uses.

cursed blade should seriously have an effect such as "double all damage dealt to your hero ON YOUR TURN", or at very least disable double damage from enemy spells, that way you don't get 12 damage from a fireball, yet you still have to take like 10 damage from a single trade. that way the card actually might be somewhat balanced _always_, not just every once in a while... whoever designed this card, *you only had one job*

Here's a fun prospect: Turn 1 opponent passes, you play cursed blade. Turn 2 opponent plays frost bolt on you, you play whatever. Turn 3 opponent plays frost bolt and ice lance on face, you play a 3 drop or armor up. Turn 4 opponent plays fireball, you cry.

Correct me if I am wrong but is cursed blade not the weapon that you hit with every turn? Perhaps the card is not as bad as I may think (play when I can but not even close to Trump) but an unwritten rule is more or less that you hit face or a minion EVERY turn that you have it equipped to avoid a situation like the one when he faced the first mage?

I once had Cursed Blade played against me. My opponent did it right and used it all up in the first three turn, and I didn't get a single hit on him. In that case, it was equivalent to a 1 mana 6 face damage spell, which is pretty good.
