I don't know the specific situation of Lifecoach against Trump. But when his turn 3 is going to be really difficult (maybe in an unfavored matchup), it's plausible to think some things through on turn 2 to have more time on turn 3 because you already used your time.
@noneofyourbusiness4294
@noneofyourbusiness4294 7 жыл бұрын
RisingGambler if I remember correctly, Lifecoach won the game, but the turn 2 axe was a nobrainer. I agree you should always think about what you do with your turn, but! Lifecoach showed multiple times, that all the thinking he (or rather his fans) claim to do, often results in severe failure. So if he'd think through all the possibilies, he should be able to react to a play, or a situation, which he often just can't, sitting there, looking like a fool by missing quite easy lethals. I might give him a point of having a better gameplan than I do, but he throws games at a point, where he should know already it's lethal, which is why I see Kolento for example as a way better player, who has a gameplan and makes the right decisions in more cases than not

Quick math: 4/9 traps are irrelevant (Dart, Cat, Hidden, Snake) and will lead to a win. Regardless of your play, 1 trap (Misdirection) is an unavoidable (citation needed) liability. Healing turns 2 more traps (Snipe, Explosive) into wins, but turns 2 traps into auto-losses (Freezing, Bear), which I believe makes it a wash? Attacking face with your 8/8 allows you to win through 2 traps (Freezing, Bear), leaving you vulnerable to 2 traps (Explosive, Snipe). QED: I believe the optimal path is: attack face, pray it's not Explosive, Earthen Ring Farseer if no traps trigger (to play around Snipe).

I got a very similar answer, but I don't understand toast's 67% math on misdirection. If you play leeroy and faceless first then your best odds still look like 50/50 to me. Swinging with 1 of the leeroy results in 4 options, not 3. (A) It hits your face and you die. (B) It hits the other leeroy and they both die so you lose. (C) It hits shambler which survives, so you win with 2nd leeroy and shambler. (D) It hits yogg and you win with shambler and 2nd leeroy. So either way it seems you are going to be vulnerable to precisely 2.5 traps whether you go with leeroy or earthen ring farseer and safe against 6.5.

Hi Toast..! This was really good. Thanks for taking the time to do the breakdown, and so detailed at that. Interestingly, the the drop of Farseer resonates strongly as the first go-to due to the fear of losing to Explosive. Your breakdown, was very interesting with respect to the winning conditions, which makes perfect sense as the logic to use in retrospect. However, I think it would also be interesting to explore the loosing conditions also. Obviously, the point of the game is to win, so it makes sense that you considered this as the primary premise. But I think it could also make sense to consider what are the options with regards to ensuring that we survive this turn, and then comparing the winning odds against that of the worst case scenarios. That is, this puzzle was assuming that we were absolutely guaranteed to loose next turn. Under that premise, any chance of getting us through next turn would be ruled out as a loss, regardless of whether we were in a winning position or not. In a sense, the 2-health left might have made this the most relevant situation, though certainly interesting to consider. From the board we are presented and without the knowledge of the opponent's cards in hand or an estimation of that it might be useless to ponder on that, but it was certain that a 100% chance of loss was not present from the board. These additional considerations could, I think have some impact in the final decision as to what was the best play in that specific scenario. Anyways, again, thanks for the cool puzzle!

What if you attacked Yog with faceless. It would trigger Freezing and Misdirection (same as going face) but it would also have a chance to trigger Snake trap. If Freezing or Snake trigger you have a 100% chance to win the game, and a 50% chance with misdirection (same as going face). If none of those trigger then the only secrets that would be relevant are Bear, Explosive, and Snipe. No matter what playing around snipe and explosive have the lowest chance of gaining lethal. If it is bear you also don't with with this line. With this line you play around three secrets, lose to two don't ever make sense to play around, and lose to a third that could otherwise be played around. 3/6 secrets played around, with 2/6 that cannot be played around, lose to 1/6 secrets.
